Autophagic activation in immune cells, gut microbiota dysbiosis, and metabolic abnormalities have been reported separately as characteristics of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Elucidating the crosstalk among the immune system, commensal microbiota, and metabolites is crucial to understanding the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Emerging evidence shows that basophil activation plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of SLE; however, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown.

This study aims to clarify the disruption of gut barrier and dysbiosis of the microbiota in an experimental macaque model with 6-year diabetes mellitus (DM), and provide evidence for the application of therapeutic strategies targeting the human microbiota in the future. A single intravenous injection of high-dose streptozotocin was used to induce the type 1 diabetes (T1D) macaque model. Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) and Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS) staining were conducted to observe colon morphological changes.

Background: Aerobic vaginitis (AV) is a state of abnormal vaginal microbiota, which is associated with increased numbers of aerobic, enteric bacteria and inflammation of the vaginal epithelium. Anti-microbial treatment combined with anti-inflammatory therapy could be useful in the treatment of this condition. It is known that calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D, plays an important role in modulating the immune response in several inflammatory diseases.

Studies have shown that the presence of allergens, including insecticides, significantly increases the risk of occupational allergic diseases among solar greenhouse workers. However, no studies have yet investigated the relationship between organophosphorus pesticide use by greenhouse workers and allergic diseases, and the role of the flora in this context remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between combined exposure to organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) and Glyphosate (GLY) and changes in total immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels, as well as to analyze the role of nasal flora in allergic status.
