Regenerating skin tissue remains a major challenge in medical science, especially due to the risk of scarring and prolonged healing, which becomes even more complicated in people with diabetes. Recent advancements have led to the creation of therapeutic dressings incorporating drug-delivery systems to tackle these issues. Exosomes (Exos) derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have gained significant attention for mediating therapy without directly using cells, thanks to their natural anti-inflammatory and tissue repair properties mirroring those of MSCs.

Epigenetic Regulation Via Electrical Forces.

Rev Physiol Biochem Pharmacol

January 2025

Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK.

Multiple epigenetic modulations occur to chromatin rather than to DNA itself and these influence gene expression or gene silencing profoundly. Both the creation of these post-translational modifications and the mechanisms of their readout are regulated significantly by electrical forces several of which are discussed. They are also influenced by phase separation which itself is driven by electrical forces.

Passive radiative cooling technology serves as an energy-free alternative to traditional cooling systems. Porous polymer structures are frequently employed for radiative cooling by leveraging the refractive index mismatch between the polymer and the pores, enabling the scattering of incoming sunlight. Recently, water-soluble and readily available Sodium chloride (NaCl) particles have been utilized as sacrificial templates for sustainable pore creation.

Bio-Microfluidics Lab, Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran.

Water pollution, driven by a variety of enduring contaminants, poses considerable threats to ecosystems, human health, and biodiversity, highlighting the urgent need for innovative and sustainable treatment approaches. Ozone-based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have demonstrated significant efficacy in breaking down stubborn pollutants, such as organic micropollutants and pathogens, that are not easily addressed by traditional treatment techniques. This review offers an in-depth analysis of ozonation mechanisms, covering both the direct oxidation by ozone and the indirect reactions facilitated by hydroxyl radicals, emphasizing their effectiveness and adaptability across various wastewater matrices.
