The article considers the issues of clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of arterial dissection, a common cause of ischemic stroke at a young age. The causes, predisposing factors and pathophysiological foundations of the development of this disease are discussed. It is noted that arterial dissection is often accompanied by non-specific clinical manifestations, which complicates the diagnosis. We present a description of a case of a female patient with ischemic stroke, which developed against the background of dissection of the right vertebral artery in the absence of significant risk factors, with a favorable outcome in the form of spontaneous remodeling a week after the development of symptoms.
