Fish is a significant source of animal protein for humans; however, it has a tendency to bioaccumulate toxicants from the environment. The present study assessed the health risks associated with potential toxic metals (PTMs) in differently processed catfish (Clarias gariepinus) from four markets in Abeokuta metropolis, southwestern Nigeria. A total of 60 samples were collected and analyzed for PTMs using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer.

This study evaluates the relationship between CVH levels from LE8 and mortality risk, considering biological aging's role. Using data from the NHANES non-CVD adult population, CVH scores were categorized as low (< 50), moderate (50-79), and high (≥ 80) per AHA guidelines.

Aims: To investigate the relationship between nocturia and values measured using a novel multifunctional portable urine-measuring device.
Methods: Thirty-five older men with nocturia and/or high-normal or high blood pressure were enrolled to record measurements on one full day (24 h) and two nights using the portable device during urination. Participants used a semi-conical cup with a small hole equipped with a conductivity sensor, temperature sensor, and timer to measure urine volume, salt content, urine temperature, and urination speed.

In the wild, stressors occur with varying likelihood throughout the day, leading animals to evolve plastic stress responses that exhibit circadian rhythmicity. In mammals, studies have revealed that the circadian plasticity of stress response may differ with age. However, such developmental effects have been largely overlooked in other vertebrate groups.
