Unlabelled: INTRODUCTION, OBJECTIVES: Authors of two thoracic surgical departments from the above named hospitals discuss their practices of pulmonary metastasectomy after pneumonectomy for malignant disease.
Material And Methods: Six patients were operated after pneumonectomy for metastatic spread in the residual lung. The average age of the three male and three female patients was 52.
The bronchoscopic investigation was performed in 15 467 patients treated for respiratory tuberculosis in the Central Military Clinical Tuberculous Hospital N 4 for the last 20 years. The bronchial tuberculosis was revealed in 1315 (8,5%) patients. Among them the tumoral process was detected in 113 (8,6%), including the central cancer--in 84 patients, and the peripheral cancer--in 29.

Material And Methods: Clinical, x-ray, bronchological and spirographic examinations with broncholytic test were made in 26 BE patients aged 16-66 years (14 males, 12 females). The membrane-receptor complex of erythrocytes was based on the effect of adrenoantagonist propranolol on osmotic erythrocytic resistance (obsidan test) and effect of adrenoagonist adrenalin on dynamics of ESR.

Results And Discussion: Among the affected, 8 (40%) patients had Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, 5 (25%) suffered from chronic lymphocytic leukemia, 4 (2%) had Hodgkin's disease, 1 (5%) manifested a myelodysplastic syndrome, 1 (5%) multiple myeloma and 1 (5%) had chronic myeloid leukemia.

The role of diagnostic bronchoscopy in patients with lung tumours is to evaluate the presence, extent and character of endobronchial tumourous changes. Videobronchoscopes and ultrathin bronchoscopes introduced recently into clinical practice make more accurate evaluation of larger areas of the bronchial tree possible. The clinical impact of methods based on the principle of (auto)fluorescence is searched for.
