In this study, a bovine serum albumin (BSA)-coated magnetic single-walled carbon nanotube (mCNT) was synthesized using covalent functionalization. Mitoxantrone (MTO) was chosen as a model drug, and loading/release profiles of mCNTs were evaluated. To synthesize BSA-coated mCNT, 1-ethyl-3-(3-(dimethylamino)propyl) carbodiimide and -hydroxysuccinimide were used as cross-linking agents. The success of the functionalization process was demonstrated through various analysis techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer, and scanning electron microscopy. The saturation magnetization of mCNT-BSA was 15.6 emu/g, indicating its potential for magnetically targeted drug delivery systems. Finally, MTO was physically loaded on the BSA-coated mCNT (mCNT-BSA) and the results were compared to those of mCNT. mCNT-BSA showed less drug loading capacity but more release response than mCNT. Considering drug release and cytotoxicity test results, MTO-loaded mCNT-BSA nanoparticles have great potential for cancer treatment.

Although the glycosylation of viral proteins plays a critical role in the process of viral invasion into host cells, studies on the glycosylation of monkeypox virus (MPXV) structural proteins have not yet been reported. To investigate the importance of MPXV protein glycosylation, poly Ser-Arg (poly SR) materials capable of simultaneously enriching both -glycopeptides and -glycopeptides were synthesized by surface-initiated reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (SI-RAFT) polymerization. The poly SR materials were evaluated using the digest mixture of standard proteins containing bovine fetuin and bovine serum albumin, and the digest of complex biological samples including bovine sperm tail lysate, mouse sperm tail lysate, mouse brain lysate, and human serum.

Background And Aim: In animal husbandry, antibiotics are frequently used as growth promoters, as well as for illness prevention and treatment. They are considered important toxic and allergenic contaminants of food and a serious risk factor for the spread of antibiotic resistance. National and international regulatory authorities have established limits on the permissible residue of antibiotics in food.

Creating Single Atomic Coordination for Hypoxia-Resistant Pyroptosis Nano-Inducer to Boost Anti-Tumor Immunotherapy.

General synthesis and mechanical understanding of type I nano-photosensitizers are of great importance for hypoxia-resistant pyroptosis inducers. Herein, a simple solvothermal treatment is developed to convert non-photosensitive small molecules (hemin) into uniform carbon nanodots (HNCDs) with strong type I photodynamic activity and red fluorescence emission. These HNCDs inherit the single atomic Fe-N center of hemin while creating sp-hybridized carbon surroundings, which synergistically modulated the energy level and electron transfer for converting the type II photodynamic process to type I.

Some microorganisms, including lactic acid bacteria (LAB), can bind to mycotoxins. Its binding ability is useful for mycotoxin mitigation. Conventionally, the binding assay for this ability of microorganisms to mycotoxins has been performed by the so-called in vitro assay.
