Aflatoxins (AFTs) are highly carcinogenic and mainly contaminate cereals. In this study, we designed and screened a hapten by analyzing the same characteristic groups of AFTs (AFB, AFB, AFG and AFG), prepared a monoclonal antibody (mAb) 4C11 with a high sensitivity and specificity that can simultaneously detect all the main AFTs, and established a colloidal gold immunochromatographic assay (CG-ICA) for the detection of AFTs in cereals. The limits of detection (LODs) were 0.77 μg/kg, 1.40 μg/kg and 0.71 μg/kg for wheat, rice and maize, respectively, with linear ranges of 1.17-5.52 μg/kg, 1.84-5.20 μg/kg and 1.26-8.95 μg/kg, respectively. The spiked recoveries of AFTs samples ranged from 95.6 % to 104.2 %, and the positive samples further validated the reliability of the method. The results demonstrated that the method can be used for rapid, sensitive and efficient on-site detection of AFTs in cereals.

To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of drug resistance genes of carbapenemase-producing Escherichia coli (CPECO) in Henan Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 2021 to 2023, providing data support and theoretical basis for controlling nosocomial infections of CPECO. Using a cross-sectional study, 30 carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli (CRECO) strains confirmed by VITEK-2 Compact identification and drug sensitivity test in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory of Henan Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 2021 to 2023 were tested, using carbapenemase inhibitor enhancement test to conduct preliminary screening of carbapenemases, and colloidal gold immunochromatography and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were used to determine the phenotypes and genotypes of common carbapenemases () respectively, and the genotypes () of common extended Spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) were confirmed using PCR. The PCR amplification products of carbapenemase and ESBL positive strains were Sanger-sequenced, and the sequencing products were compared on the Blast website to determine the exact carbapenemase and ESBL genotypes.

Fenamiphos (FENA) is an organophosphorus insecticide, and its residues in fruits, vegetables, and the environment have raised concerns. Therefore, it is very important to develop a simple, rapid, and accurate method for FENA detection. In this study, a novel FENA hapten was designed and predicted based on computer-aided simulation technology, and high-performance anti-FENA monoclonal antibodies were screened using a matrix effect-enhanced screening method, with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration of 1.

Dengue virus (DENV) is an important arthropod-borne viral disease, with four antigenically and genetically diverse serotypes (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4). Timely and accurate diagnosis of dengue virus serotypes is crucial for the management of outbreaks. This study focussed on the development of a RT-PCR based lateral flow strip assay to detect DENV serotypes in a dual detection manner without using gel electrophoresis.

A highly sensitive lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) for imidacloprid, a widely used neonicotinoid insecticide, has been developed. The LFIA realizes the indirect coupling of anti-imidacloprid antibodies and gold nanoparticle (GNP) labels directly in the course of the assay. For this purpose, the common GNPs conjugate with anti-imidacloprid antibodies and are changed into a combination of non-modified, anti-imidacloprid antibodies, and the GNPs conjugate with anti-species antibodies.
