Remote sensing images often suffer from the degradation effects of atmospheric haze, which can significantly impair the quality and utility of the acquired data. A novel dehazing method leveraging generative adversarial networks is proposed to address this challenge. It integrates a generator network, designed to enhance the clarity and detail of hazy images, with a discriminator network that distinguishes between dehazed and real clear images.

The signals that mediate mate choice can be complex, comprising multiple components, and understanding how complex signals evolve under sexual selection has been the focus of much study. However, open questions still remain about the role of the female's sensory and perceptual processes in shaping the evolution of complex signals. Male green swordtails have an elongated caudal fin that comprises colour, length and a black melanic margin; females prefer males with larger bodies, longer swords and complete black sword margins.

The primary challenge stems from the necessity to simultaneously address two competing factors: the overall volume of the AR system and the occurrence of chromatic aberration. For example, three-dimensional differential phase contrast (3D DPC) imaging uses through-focus images captured under different illumination patterns deconvoluted with a computed 3D phase transfer function (PTF) to reconstruct the 3D refractive index. In conventional 3D DPC with semi-circular illumination, partially spatially coherent illumination often diminishes phase contrast, exacerbating inherent noise, and can lead to a large number of zero values in the 3D PTF, resulting in strong low-frequency artifacts and deteriorating imaging resolution.
