Tuberculosis (TB), white plague, many other definitions is an ancient deadly infection that humans dealt with after creation. The first hypothesis refers to 150 million years ago about the appearance of TB in the Jurassic era before human creation, but documents show 9000 years ago for first appearance in human society. In 1882, Robert Koch was able to identify and describe the best possible agent of TB. After the discovery of TB's agent [Mycobacterium tuberculosis], progress was made in diagnosis and treatment rapidly, and invasive operations such as surgery were replaced with drug treatment and chemical compounds hired for treatment that were so effective before drug resistance occurrence. In this review authors done their tries to describe all aspects of TB [identification, epidemics, diagnostics, drug development, etc.] in history from ancient records to the present condition and give insight into the future of TB ending in 2030 and 2050.

Obtaining a timescale for bacterial evolution is crucial to understand early life evolution but is difficult owing to the scarcity of bacterial fossils. Here, we introduce multiple new time constraints to calibrate bacterial evolution based on ancient symbiosis. This idea is implemented using a bacterial tree constructed with genes found in the mitochondrial lineages phylogenetically embedded within Proteobacteria.

PGT-A, what's it for? Considering the increase in fetal aneuploidies with a woman's age and the high number of miscarriages associated with fetal karyotype anomalies, the concept of selecting IVF embryos based on their karyotype in order to transfer only euploid embryos and eliminate aneuploid ones was proposed. Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) was then established, nearly 30 years ago, with the expectation that the transfer of euploid embryos would lead to a significant improvement in medically assisted reproduction (MAR) outcomes. PGT-A, what's wrong? Despite the practice and widespread use, PGT-A has not consistently proven its effectiveness.

The discovery of the involvement of microRNAs (miRNAs) in cystic fibrosis (CF) has generated increasing interest in the past years, due to their possible employment as a novel class of drugs to be studied in pre-clinical settings of therapeutic protocols for cystic fibrosis. In this narrative review article, consider and comparatively evaluate published laboratory information of possible interest for the development of miRNA-based therapeutic protocols for cystic fibrosis. We consider miRNAs involved in the upregulation of CFTR, miRNAs involved in the inhibition of inflammation and, finally, miRNAs exhibiting antibacterial activity.

A quarter of a century ago, sickle cell disease (SCD) was mainly viewed as a typical genetic disease inherited as a classical Mendelian trait. Therefore, the main focus concerning SCD was on diagnosis, meaning, genotyping, and identification of homozygous and heterozygous individuals carrying the relevant HbS mutant allele. Nowadays, it is well established that sickle cell disease is indeed the result of homozygosis for the HbS variant, although this single feature is not capable of explaining the highly diverse clinical presentation of SCD.

Spatial transcriptomics (ST) offers enormous potential to decipher the biological and pathological heterogeneity in precious archival cancer tissues. Traditionally, these tissues have rarely been used and only examined at a low throughput, most commonly by histopathological staining. ST adds thousands of times as many molecular features to histopathological images, but critical technical issues and limitations require more assessment of how ST performs on fixed archival tissues.
