Morphea is a chronic inflammatory fibrosing disorder. Since fibrosis is the hallmark of both scars and morphea, our attention was raised for the possible use of Fractional Ablative CO lasers and microneedling as treatment modalities for morphea. To compare the efficacy and safety of Fractional Ablative CO lasers and microneedling in the treatment of morphea. This comparative cross-sectional study was conducted on 30 patients with morphea, diagnosed clinically and histopathologically. These patients were divided into two groups; Group 1 (n = 15) received treatment with Fractional Ablative CO laser, and Group 2 (n = 15) received microneedling treatment. Each patient in both groups underwent a total of three sessions, one session per month. Treatment assessment was performed 1 month after the last session using Photographic documentation, clinical evaluation with the Localized Scleroderma Cutaneous Assessment Tool (LoSCAT), dermoscopic imaging and histopathological evaluation with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) and Masson's Trichrome stains. Additionally, patient satisfaction and side effects were evaluated at the end of treatment. A statistically significant decrease in the clinical score (LoSCAT) of morphea was observed in both the Fractional CO laser and microneedling groups at the end of treatment. Furthermore, the histopathological score significantly improved in both groups regarding dermal vasculature, infiltrate, epidermal and dermal changes, and adnexal and periappendiceal fat. A high degree of satisfaction was reported among patients in both groups. Both factional CO and microneedling are safe, effective, and well-tolerated modalities for the treatment of morphea.

Background: Both oxidative stress and autoimmune responses play crucial roles in the development of vitiligo. Under oxidative stress, the apoptotic melanocytes expose self-antigens and release high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), triggering autoimmune activation and recruiting CD8 T cells. This process further leads to the destruction of melanocytes, resulting in the lack of melanin granules.

Objective: Cheek acupuncture, a recently established microneedle therapy, has been proven to effectively reduce pain, but its potential antiemetic effects remain unconfirmed. Thus, This study aimed to compare the antiemetic efficacy of cheek acupuncture with ondansetron and evaluate the cumulative effect in patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
Design: A single-center randomized controlled trial SETTING: A university teaching hospital.

Effective delivery of active substances and drugs is an important part of treatment. In order for a drug to work at the right place in the body, it must be transported there in the right way. For this reason, new carriers are being sought for active substances and drugs that can effectively deliver drugs to the target site without causing additional side effects.

Preventing bacterial infection and accelerating wound closure are critical for wound healing. Herein, a novel multifunctional polyvinyl alcohol-polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVA-PVP) microneedle (MN) patch embedded with enzyme-like activity (CoFe)(S) (CFS) nanoparticles and metal ions (Co and Fe) was systematically synthesized for the management of bacteria-infected wounds. CFS regulated redox homeostasis and achieved bacterial eradication while concomitantly alleviating oxidative damage.

Gene therapy has emerged as a pivotal component in the treatment of diverse genetic and acquired human diseases. However, effective gene delivery remains a formidable challenge to overcome. The presence of degrading enzymes, acidic pH conditions, and the gastrointestinal mucus layer pose significant barriers for genetic therapy, necessitating exploration of alternative therapeutic options.
