Reconfigured single- and double-diode models for improved modelling of solar cells/modules.

Sci Rep

Department of Computer Engineering, College of Computer and Information Sciences, Majmaah University, Majmaah, 11952, Saudi Arabia.

Proper modeling of PV cells/modules through parameter identification based on the real current-voltage (I-V) data is important for the efficiency of PV systems. Most related works have concentrated on the classical single-diode model (SDM) and double-diode model (DDM) and their parameter extraction by various metaheuristic algorithms. In order to render more accurate and representative modeling, this paper adds a small resistance in series with the diodes in SDM and DDM.

A sustained blood-stage infection of the human malaria parasite P. falciparum relies on the active exit of merozoites from their host erythrocytes. During this process, named egress, the infected red blood cell undergoes sequential morphological events: the rounding-up of the surrounding parasitophorous vacuole, the disruption of the vacuole membrane and finally the rupture of the red blood cell membrane.

Computer vision based automatic evaluation method of YO steel coating performance with SEM image.

Sci Rep

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Baiyunobo Rare Earth Resource Researches and Comprehensive Utilization, Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths, Baotou, 014030, China.

This study introduces a deep learning-based automatic evaluation method for analyzing the microstructure of steel with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), aiming to address the limitations of manual marking and subjective assessments by researchers. By leveraging advanced computer vision algorithms, specifically a suitable model for long-term dendritic solidifications named Tang Rui Detect (TRD), the method achieves efficient and accurate detection and quantification of microstructure features. This approach not only enhances the training process but also simplifies loss function design, ultimately leading to a proper evaluation of surface modifications in steel materials.

Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV), the causative agent of the foot-and-mouth disease of cattle population possesses a rapid evolutionary rate. In Bangladesh, the first circulation of the O/ME-SA/SA-2018 lineage as a novel sublineage, MYMBD21 was reported from our laboratory. The first whole genome sequence of an isolate, BAN/MY/My-466/2021 (shortly named My-466) of the SA-2018 lineage is characterized and represented in this study.
