Melatonin is a potentially active signaling molecule and plays a crucial role in regulating the growth and development of plants under stress conditions, alleviating oxidative damage, enhancing antioxidant defence mechanisms and regulating ion homeostasis. This study examined the effects of exogenous melatonin application on leaf biomass, ion concentrations, betalains, phenolic acid and endogenous melatonin contents comparing red beet (Beta vulgaris L. 'Ruby Queen' and 'Scarlet Supreme') and white beet ('Rodeo' and 'Ansa') cultivars under increasing salinity levels of 50, 150, and 250 mM NaCl.

Ansa pancreatica is a rare anatomical variation of the pancreatic duct system, characterized by a reversed S-shaped loop that connects the main pancreatic duct to the minor papilla. Its clinical significance, particularly with recurrent acute pancreatitis, has been a subject of interest, but remains poorly understood due to the rarity of reported cases. We report the case of a 34-year-old female with a history of multiple episodes of acute pancreatitis, diagnosed with ansa pancreatica using magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP).

Objective: The medial forebrain bundle (MFB) is a novel promising deep brain stimulation (DBS) target in severe affective disorders that courses through the subthalamic region according to tractography studies. Its potential therapeutic role arose in connection with the development of hypomania during stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) in Parkinson's disease, offering an alternative explanation for the occurrence of this side effect. However, until now its course exclusively described by tractography had not yet been confirmed by any anatomical method.
