A method is presented for the analysis of trace amounts of dinitroaniline herbicides in tissue and excreta. The method employs extraction of the tissue or excreta with organic solvent, clean up by liquid/liquid partitioning or silica gel chromatography, and ultimate analysis by gas chromatography using electron capture detection. Recoveries of greater than 80% were noted over the range of concentration 0.1 to 1.0 microgram/g.

Ardeids are wild birds well adapted to urban and periurban environments. However, the association of wildlife with humans and livestock increases the chances of transmission of microorganisms between wild animals, domestic animals and humans. The present study aimed to investigate the occurrence of Salmonella spp.

Inorganic mercury pharmacokinetics in man: a hybrid model.

Xenobiotica

January 2025

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Westcoast University, Los Angeles, CA, USA.

A four-compartment model is presented that simulates inorganic mercury [Hg(II)] pharmacokinetics in blood, tissue, and excreta over a 70-day period. Simulations are validated against data collected from five human subjects, and previously analyzed. In the model, two compartments simulate Hg(II) in blood: one for mobile-Hg(II) and the other for immobile-Hg(II).

Introduction: CA102N is a novel anticancer drug developed by covalently linking H-Nim (N-(4-Amino-2-phenoxyphenyl methanesulfonamide) to Hyaluronic Acid to target CD44 receptor-rich tumors. The proposed approach seeks to enhance the efficacy and overcome limitations associated with H-Nim, including poor solubility and short half-life.

Methods: The study aimed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, biodistribution, metabolism, and tumor permeability of [14C] CA102N in xenograft mice following a single intravenous dose of 200 mg/kg.

Liubao insect tea (LIT) is a traditional tea produced from the excreta of Hydrillodes repugnalis that are fed with Liubao tea. In this study, LIT polyphenols (LITP) were extracted and identified, mainly consisting of brevifolin carboxylic acid, brevifolin, ellagic acid. The study aimed to explore the therapeutic potential of LITP in experimental colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium in mice.

The objectives of this study were to investigate whether an increased dietary myo-inositol (MI) supply translates into changes in MI concentrations and endogenous mucosal phosphatase activities in the intestine of laying hens and whether different laying hen strains respond differently to MI supplementation. The diets were corn-soybean meal-based and supplemented without (MI0) or with 1 (MI1), 2 (MI2), or 3 (MI3) g MI/kg feed. Ten hens per strain (Lohmann Brown-classic (LB) and Lohmann LSL-classic (LSL)) and diet were sacrificed at the age of 30 wk following a 4-wk stay in a metabolic unit.
