Artificial neural networks (ANNs) can help camera-based remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) in measuring cardiac activity and physiological signals from facial videos, such as pulse wave, heart rate and respiration rate with better accuracy. However, most existing ANN-based methods require substantial computing resources, which poses challenges for effective deployment on mobile devices. Spiking neural networks (SNNs), on the other hand, hold immense potential for energy-efficient deep learning owing to their binary and event-driven architecture.

Various nanodrug vehicles were well-designed with complicated functions for tumor therapy. However, the unsatisfactory tumor delivery efficiency and uncertain off-target release became the stumbling block of the nanodrugs on the way to the clinic. Inspired by efficient tumor targeting ability of albumin, we reported a simplified biomimetic peptide-based vehicle synthesized by copolymerizing L-glutamyl-L-lysine unit (EK dimer, an intrinsic surface peptide pair from albumin) with L-phenylalanine (F) to encapsulate doxorubicin (Dox).

Zwitterionic hydrogels exhibit excellent nonfouling and hemocompatibility. However, the practical application of these materials as antifouling coatings for biomedical devices is hindered by several key challenges, including the harsh preparation conditions and the weak coating stability. Here, we present a two-component zwitterionic hydrogel paint for the in situ preparation of robust zwitterionic hydrogel coatings on various substrate surfaces without UV assistance.
