We present the case of a child born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. After developing multiple complications following the first surgical stage (Norwood procedure), her parents decide not to proceed with the second stage (Glenn operation). Cardiac surgeons, pediatric intensivists, a psychologist, and a bioethicist analyze whether further surgical intervention is ethically obligatory. A cardiac surgeon believes that after getting beyond the difficulties of the first stage, the patient seems to be a reasonable candidate for the next procedure. He considers the intervention to be ethically permissible edging on ethically obligatory. The psychologist describes the emotional impact of traumatic experiences like the one experienced by this family. She analyses whether their decision is likely to be aligned with their values and explains the possible mechanisms that justify a decision not to continue with surgery. Physicians, a surgeon, and a bioethicist analyze the parents' perception of excessive suffering based on severe complications that were far worse than expected. They believe that, even if proceding with the Glenn operation is in the child's best interest, state intervention to require the surgery over the parents' objection is not justified.

Even though Leydig cell tumor (LCT) represents the most common neoplasia among testicular sex cord-stromal tumors (SCSTs), it is a rare condition, comprising 1-2% of all testicular tumors, with a 10% risk of malignancy most commonly located in retroperitoneal lymph nodes. LCTs may demonstrate various clinical manifestations - from asymptomatic intratesticular swelling through nonspecific symptoms such as loss of libido, impotence or infertility, up to feminizing or virilizing syndromes due to hormonal activity of the tumor. This article presents a case of Leydig cell tumor that was associated with azoospermia what have rarely been reported worldwide.

Importance: Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) is an uncommon but severe hyperinflammatory illness that occurs 2 to 6 weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Presentation overlaps with other conditions, and risk factors for severity differ by patient. Characterizing patterns of MIS-C presentation can guide efforts to reduce misclassification, categorize phenotypes, and identify patients at risk for severe outcomes.

Chronic stage neuropsychological assessments of children with severe TBI typically center around a referral question and focus on assessing cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning, making differential diagnoses, and planning treatment. When severe TBI-related neurological deficits are subtle and fall outside commonly assessed behavioral indicators, as can happen with theory of mind and social information processing, they can go unobserved and subsequently fail to be assessed. Additionally, should chronic stage cognitive, behavioral, and emotional assessment findings fall within the average to above average range, a child experiencing ongoing significant unassessed severe TBI-related subtle deficits could be mistakenly judged to have "recovered" from their injury; and to be experiencing no significant ongoing residual neurological deficits.

Background: LIN28, a highly conserved RNA-binding protein, regulate a wide variety of post-transcriptional cellular processes. The current study aimed to identify genetic variants of five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LIN28B gene (rs221634, rs22163, rs314276, rs9404590, and rs12194974) and their association with Breast cancer.
Method: 220 patients and 230 controls were genotyped by the RFLP assay for Lin28B gene variants.
