1D moisture-enabled electric generators (MEGs) hold great promise for powering electronic textiles, but their current limitations in power output and operational duration restrict their application in wearable technology. This study introduces a high-performance yarn-based moisture-enabled electric generator (YMEG), which comprises a carbon-fiber core, a cotton yarn active layer with a radial gradient of poly(4-styrensulfonic acid) and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PSSA/PVA), and an aluminum wire as the outer electrode. The unique design maintains a persistent moisture gradient between the interior and exterior electrodes, enhancing performance through the continuous proton diffusion from PSSA and Al⁺ ions from the aluminum wire.

Background: Current guidelines recommend preserving at least one of the bilateral pelvic flows in patients with aortoiliac aneurysms. The sandwich parallel graft, using commercially available devices, provides a viable option for patients who fall outside the instructions for use of iliac branch devices. However, gutter endoleak remains a significant challenge.

Purpose: A triple lumen iteration of the novel photo-angioplasty drug eluting balloon catheter (DEBc) Lumi-Solve may be compromised by guidewire shadow (GWS)-mediated attenuation of balloon surface drug activation. The current study aimed to design and evaluate a novel triple lumen prototype, designated Lumi-Solve-T, to circumvent these issues.
Methods: Effects of guidewire shadowing (GWS) on vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) proliferation was evaluated using the MTT assay.

MRI of patients with Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) implants is constrained due to radiofrequency (RF) heating of the implant lead. However, "RF-shimming" parallel transmission (PTX) has the potential to reduce DBS heating during MRI. As part of using PTX in such a "safe mode", maps of the RF transmission field (B1+) are typically acquired for calibration purposes, with each transmit coil excited individually.
