A series of Co complexes [Co(ImP)][PF], with HImP = 1,1'-(1,3-phenylene)bis(3-methyl-1-imidazole-2-ylidene)) and R = Me, Et, Pr, Bu, is presented in this work. The influence of the strong donor ligand on the ground and excited-state photophysical properties was investigated in the context of different alkyl substituents at the imidazole nitrogen. X-ray diffraction revealed no significant alterations of the structures and all differences in the series emerge from the electronic structures.

Biomolecular condensation lays the foundation of forming biologically important membraneless organelles, but abnormal condensation processes are often associated with human diseases. Ribonucleic acid (RNA) plays a critical role in the formation of biomolecular condensates by mediating the phase transition through its interactions with proteins and other RNAs. Complex N-glycans are asparagine (N)-linked branched sugar chains attached to secretory proteins in eukaryotes. They are produced by modification of N-linked oligosaccharide structures in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi apparatus. Complex N-glycans formed in the Golgi apparatus are often assigned specific roles unique to the host organism, with their roles in plants remaining largely unknown.

The search for new anode materials with high lithium-ion battery (LIB) capacity has attracted considerable attention due to the increasing need for electrical power.
