Optic capture of a three-piece lens in the absence of posterior capsule support is an effective strategy for stabilizing and sequestering the optic to reduce the risk of dislocation and UGH syndrome compared to sulcus placement. We present a novel technique that facilitates optic capture in the presence of a contracted, fibrotic rhexis opening, while minimizing stress on the zonules by using iris retractors to assist in stabilization and expansion of the rhexis, followed by direct injection of the optic of the lens behind the anterior capsule opening into an optic captured configuration.

Femtosecond photoacoustic detection is a powerful all-optical technique for characterizing metal nanofilms. However, the lack of accurate descriptions of the temperature-dependent optical properties of metal nanofilms during ultrafast thermal processes hinders the deep understanding of this dynamic behavior, leading to compromised measurement accuracy. To address this, we developed Critical Point Models (CPMs) for copper and AlCu nanofilms to describe their dynamic optical properties during photoacoustic testing.

Speech-on-speech masking is a common and challenging situation in everyday verbal communication. The ability to segregate competing auditory streams is a necessary requirement for focusing attention on the target speech. The Visual World Paradigm (VWP) provides insight into speech processing by capturing gaze fixations on visually presented icons that reflect the speech signal.

Satellites frequently encounter atmospheric haze during imaging, leading to the loss of detailed information in remote sensing images and significantly compromising image quality. This detailed information is crucial for applications such as Earth observation and environmental monitoring. In response to the above issues, this paper proposes an end-to-end multi-scale adaptive feature extraction method for remote sensing image dehazing (MSD-Net).

Direct verification of the geometric accuracy of machined parts cannot be performed simultaneously with active machining operations, as it usually requires subsequent inspection with measuring devices such as coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) or optical 3D scanners. This sequential approach increases production time and costs. In this study, we propose a novel indirect measurement method that utilizes motor current data from the controller of a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine in combination with machine learning algorithms to predict the geometric accuracy of machined parts in real-time.
