Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a common pathogenic situation that arises throughout all liver surgeries, including liver transplants. We aimed to compare the preventive effects of valsartan (VST) against valsartan + sacubitril (LCZ696) on hepatic injury caused by IRI. Methods: Adult recipients undergoing first-time liver-only transplant from 2002 to 2021 in the United States were identified using the UNOS/OPTN database. We compared post-transplant outcomes of recipients receiving liver transplant for HEH versus other diagnoses.

Background: Machine perfusion (MP), including hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE), dual HOPE, normothermic machine perfusion (NMP), NMP ischemia-free liver transplantation (NMP-ILT), and controlled oxygenated rewarming (COR), is increasingly being investigated to improve liver graft quality from extended criteria donors and donors after circulatory death and expand the donor pool. This network meta-analysis investigates the comparative efficacy and safety of various liver MP strategies versus traditional static cold storage (SCS).
Methods: We searched PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing liver transplantation (LT) outcomes between SCS and MP techniques.

This study assessed GI symptoms' prevalence and their possible origin by performing a predefined set of tests in adult WBS patients. Laboratory tests and a questionnaire were administered to assess GI symptoms and dietary habits.
