The majority of individuals with Down syndrome (DS) show signs of Alzheimer's disease (AD) neuropathology in their fourth decade. However, there is a lack of specific markers for characterizing the disease stages while considering this population's differential features. Forty-one DS individuals participated in the study, and were classified into three groups according to their clinical status: Alzheimer's disease (AD-DS), mild cognitive impairment (MCI-DS), and controls (CN-DS).

Introduction: In 2014 and 2015 Professor of neurology Andrey Bryukhovetskiy published a novel theory of the information-commutation organization of the human brain in Russia, China and the USA. The theory posits the hypothesis that the higher nervous activity (cognitive, intellectual, mnestic) of the humans and their mind are material and have microwave electromagnetic nature. The theory perceives the human mind as a result of dynamic extracortical information-commutation relations of the super-positions of the electromagnetic waves of ultra high frequency emitted by different areas of the human brain in the inter-membrane cerebrospinal fluid space of the human head at a certain period of time.

Arachnoid cysts cause a wide spectrum of clinical symptoms. Often it is difficult to clearly establish the relation between the presence of an arachnoid cyst and problems reported by the patient, which may, although not necessarily, be due to chronically elevated intracranial pressure. In recent years, increasing attention is paid to cognitive disorders accompanying arachnoid cysts, such as memory disorders, attention disorders, or language function disorders.

Considerable disturbance of all quality of life domains that worsens social adaptation and daily living and results in an asthenic-neurotic syndrome, along with neurologic and mnestic-intellectual disturbances, was revealed in patients with chronic brain ischemia (stages I, II, III). Based on the results of the double blind placebo-controlled trial, the high clinical efficacy of cytoflavin in patients with chronic brain ischemia has been shown. The treatment with cytoflavin decreases the severity of subjective symptoms and complaints thus increasing the working ability of patients, improves balance and gait, decreases the severity of asthenic and neurotic syndromes, improves cognitive and memory functions (information storage, reasoning and attention), positively effects on quality of sleep and all aspects of quality of life, in particular, on physical activity, self-rating of health and viability as well as social activity, mental health and emotional lability.
