Published: January 2025

Continuous and interrupted low cycle fatigue tests were conducted on nuclear-grade S30408 stainless steel under different stress conditions at room temperature. Vickers hardness testing and microstructure characterization were performed on the fatigue samples with different fatigue states. The evolutionary mechanism of the microstructure defects in materials under fatigue cyclic loading was discussed. The traditional Basquin formula was used to predict the fatigue life of these fatigue samples. At the same time, a quantitative mechanical model related to the characteristic micro-defects parameter KAM and the Vickers hardness (H) was established for the S30408 stainless steel during the low cycle fatigue damage process, and the prediction accuracy of the Vickers hardness is greater than 90%, which is significant and useful for the fatigue life prediction of the 304 stainless steels used in nuclear systems and the safe operation of the reactors.

Degradation of Methylene Blue by Ozone Oxidation Catalyzed by the Magnetic MnFeO@CoS Nanocomposite.

Langmuir

January 2025

CSSC Nanjing Lvzhou Environmental Protection Co., Ltd, Nanjing 210039, China.

In this study, the MnFeO@CoS magnetic nanocomposite was prepared by a two-step hydrothermal method and used to catalyze the ozone oxidation degradation of methylene blue. It was characterized by XRD, EDS, SEM, FT-IR, and XPS. The results showed that the introduction of CoS made MnFeO grow uniformly on CoS nanosheets, which effectively prevented the agglomeration of MnFeO.

Electrocatalytic CO reduction into high-value multicarbon products offers a sustainable approach to closing the anthropogenic carbon cycle and contributing to carbon neutrality, particularly when renewable electricity is used to power the reaction. However, the lack of efficient and durable electrocatalysts with high selectivity for multicarbons severely hinders the practical application of this promising technology. Herein, a nanoporous defective AuCu single-atom alloy (De-AuCu SAA) catalyst is developed through facile low-temperature thermal reduction in hydrogen and a subsequent dealloying process, which shows high selectivity toward ethylene (CH), with a Faradaic efficiency of 52% at the current density of 252 mA cm under a potential of -1.

This narrative review describes the provenance and chemical composition of Vitex agnus-castus, as well as the currently available knowledge concerning its action. To search the related articles, Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, SCOPUS databases between the years 1995 and 2024, and the keywords "Vitex," "review," "fertility," "ovarian" and "mechanisms" were used in various combinations. The data listed in this review demonstrate that Vitex agnus-castus and its constituents (isoflavones and essential oils) affect a number of physiological actions via multiple extra- and intracellular mechanisms of action.

High-Coordination and Nb-Bridging of Bimetallic Amorphous P-Nb-W-P Clusters in Carbon Nanospheres for High-Performance Sodium-Ion Hybrid Capacitors.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Jiangxi Province for Persistent Pollutants Control and Resources Recycle, Nanchang Hangkong University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, 330063, P. R. China.

Amorphous clusters are gaining prominence as prospective hosts for sodium-ion hybrid capacitors (SIHCs), but their efficacy is still affected by atomic coordination. Optimization of ion storage and charge transport can be achieved through high coordination and bimetallic configurations. Herein, high-coordination amorphous P-Nb-W-P (Nb/W-P) clusters are skillfully tailored by bridging Nb into the second shell of W in the W-P configuration, nested in situ in conductive and stable N, P co-doped carbon nanospheres (Nb/W-P@NPC).

As a potential alternative to next-generation LIBs, carbonous materials have garnered significant attention as anode materials for potassium-ion batteries due to their low cost and environmental friendliness. However, carbonaceous materials cannot fulfill the demand of anode for PIBs, due to volume expansion and poor stability during charging/discharging process. It is well-known that N doping can provide active sites for K-storage, and expand the layer distance between graphite layers.
