Case: The effective reconstruction and functional restoration of the shoulder joint after surgical treatment of shoulder girdle tumors, especially those involving resection of the glenoid, poses significant challenges. Reconstruction methods include allograft reconstruction and shoulder prosthesis. In this report, we present 2 cases of scapulectomy for tumors involving the glenoid, followed by shoulder reconstruction using custom-designed reverse shoulder prostheses that are partially fixed to the clavicle. Functional outcomes were satisfactory at 25 and 19 months, respectively.
Conclusion: This novel prosthesis design, which is partially fixed to the clavicle, provides stability and promising functional outcomes in scapular reconstruction with short-term follow-up.

Objective: This study evaluated the effects of bony increased offset (BIO) and metallic augments (MAs) on primary reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) baseplate stability in cadaveric specimens with variable bone densities.
Methods: Thirty cadaveric specimens were analyzed in an imaging and biomechanical investigation. Computed tomography (CT) scans allowed for preoperative RSA planning and bone density analysis.

Reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) has witnessed a significant advancement with the introduction of lateralisation techniques, aiming to enhance shoulder function and implant durability. Traditional medialised designs, following Grammont's principles, have encountered challenges such as scapular notching, reduced rotational strength, and instability. In contrast, lateralisation methods, which reposition the joint center of rotation laterally on the glenoid, humerus, or both, seek to improve deltoid leverage, optimize the rotator cuff muscles' length-tension relationship, and enhance joint stability.

Background: Sprengel deformity is a rare congenital malformation of the scapula defined by malposition during embryonic development. Affected individuals have limited range of motion of the shoulder and torticollis. Surgical reconstruction is an option to treat patients with severe deformity and functional impairment.

Background: Reversed shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) is often used to restore functionality in patients with joint arthropathy and dysfunctional rotator cuff. As rTSA changes the biomechanical properties of the shoulder, an altered movement pattern of arm and scapula is to be expected. Previous studies focused on changes of the scapulohumeral rhythm during functional elevation tasks.

Background: Shoulder arthroplasty is increasingly performed for shoulder conditions such as arthritis, rotator cuff arthropathy, and traumatic injuries. Registries and other compilations of patient data provide the opportunity to detect meaningful differences in outcomes between alternative techniques and implants. A wide range of outcome measurements are reported after shoulder arthroplasty, but the sample sizes needed to identify meaningful differences has not been studied systematically.
