Zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) have consistently faced challenges related to the instability of the zinc anode. Uncontrolled dendrite growth, hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and byproduct accumulation on the zinc anode severely affect the cycling life of ZIBs. Herein, inorganic-organic hybrid thin films of titanicones (Ti-based hydroquinone, TiHQ) were fabricated by molecular layer deposition (MLD) technology to modify the zinc metal anode. The MLD-based Zn@TiHQ anode suppresses the dendrite growth on the anode surface, reduces side reactions, and facilitates the desolvation and rapid transport of Zn ions. As a result, it maintains an average Coulombic efficiency (CE) as high as 99.1% over 300 cycles at 0.5 mA cm and 1 mAh cm, exhibiting excellent cycling stability for over 2800 h and enhancing the reversible capacity of the Zn@TiHQ||MnO full cell. This work demonstrates that the MLD-derived inorganic-organic hybrid TiHQ coating provides a more stable interfacial environment for the zinc anode, opening an avenue for designing high-performance zinc anodes.

Controlling symmetrical or asymmetrical growth has allowed a series of novel nanomaterials with prominent physicochemical properties to be produced. However, precise and continuous size growth based on a preserved template has long been a challenging pursuit, yet little has been achieved in terms of manipulation at the atomic level. Here, a correlated silver cluster series has been established, enabling atomically precise manipulation of symmetrical and asymmetrical surface structure expansions of metal nanoclusters.

The environmental challenges linked to petroleum-based polymers have accelerated the search for alternative materials like polylactic acid (PLA). Diverse nanofillers, ranging from inorganic to organic and hybrid inorganic/organic varieties, are employed to bolster PLA performance. Yet, non-synergistic nanofillers often underperform due to inadequate dispersion and singular functionality within the PLA matrix.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are hybrid inorganic-organic 3D coordination polymers with metal sites and organic linkers, which are a "hot" topic in the research of sorption, separations, catalysis, sensing, and environmental remediation. In this study, we explore the molecular mechanism and kinetics of interaction of the new copper porphyrin aluminum metal-organic framework (actAl-MOF-TCPPCu) compound with a vapor of the volatile organic sulfur compound (VOSC) diethyl sulfide (DES). First, compound was synthesized by post-synthetic modification (PSM) of Al-MOF-TCPPH compound by inserting Cu ions into the porphyrin ring and characterized by complementary qualitative and quantitative chemical, structural, and spectroscopic analysis.

Bone tissue regeneration presents a significant challenge in clinical treatment due to inadequate coordination between implant materials and reparative cells at the biomaterial-bone interfaces. This gap underscores the necessity of enhancing interaction modulation between cells and biomaterials, which is a crucial focus in bone tissue engineering. Metal-polyphenolic networks (MPN) are novel inorganic-organic hybrid complexes that are formed through coordination interactions between phenolic ligands and metal ions.
