Importance: Sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD) is a rare, rapidly progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disease. Definite sCJD diagnosis can only be made post mortem, and little is known about the prodromal phase of the disease.
Objective: To compare drug prescription patterns before the clinical onset of sCJD between patients and matched controls for exploration of potential risk factors and to assess correlations between drug exposure and sCJD survival.
Background: Prostatic malignancy with paraneoplastic subacute encephalitis -A rare syndrome METHOD: We present a case of 76 year old male without any previous comorbidity and addiction who manifested a rapid neuropsychiatric decline with a frontotemporal syndrome over a period of 6 months. Background: With its rapidly aging population, Japan has been seeing an increase in the concurrent incidence of dementia during heart failure treatment, making disease management difficult. Nevertheless, not much has been uncovered about the actual state of the treatment status and prognosis of heart failure patients with dementia.
Method: At the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, we retrospectively analyzed cases of patients who died of heart failure between 2018 and 2022, who were also complicated with dementia, and whose treatment progress from the initial onset of heart failure to death could be confirmed.

Background: With a rapidly aging population, general practitioners (GPs) in communities are confronting the challenge of determining those who are at greatest risk for cognitive impairment and potentially need more specialized follow-up and intervention to mitigate symptoms early in their course. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) serves as an important stage for the early intervention and prevention of dementia. However, most MCI survey questionnaires require heavy investments of manpower and time, which limits the possibility of their application among GPs in communities.
