High-performance acoustic resonators based on single-crystalline piezoelectric thin films have great potential in wireless communication applications. This paper presents the modeling, fabrication, and characterization of laterally excited bulk resonators (XBARs) utilizing the suspended ultra-thin (~420 nm) LiTaO (LT, with 42° YX-cut) film. The finite element analysis (FEA) was performed to model the LT-based XBARs precisely and to gain further insight into the physical behaviors of the acoustic waves and the loss mechanisms. In addition, the temperature response of the devices was numerically calculated, showing relatively low temperature coefficients of frequency () of ~-38 ppm/K for the primary resonant mode. The LT-based XBARs were fabricated and characterized, which presents a multi-resonant mode over a wide frequency range (0.1~10 GHz). For the primary resonance around 4.1 GHz, the fabricated devices exhibited a high-quality factor (Bode-Q) ~ 600 and piezoelectric coupling () ~ 2.84%, while the higher-harmonic showed a greater value of ~ 3.49%. To lower the resonant frequency of the resonator, the thin SiO film (~20 nm) was sputtered on the suspended device, which created a frequency offset between the series and shunt resonators. Finally, a ladder-type narrow band filter employing five XBARs was developed and characterized. This work effectively demonstrates the performance and application potential of micro-acoustic resonators employing high-quality LT films.

Developing donor-acceptor [n]cycloparaphenylenes (D-A [n]CPPs) with multiple emissions from different emissive states remains challenging yet crucial for achieving white-light emission in single-molecule. Here, we report our explorations into acceptor engineering of quinone-based D-A [10]CPPs (Nq/Aq/Tq[10]CPPs) via a post-lateral annulation using Diels-Alder reactions of oxTh[10]CPP. X-ray analysis reveals that Nq[10]CPP displays a side by side packing via naphthoquione stacking while Aq[10]CPP adopts an intercalated conformation through anthraquinone interaction.

This study examines the three-axis vibration isolation capabilities of a full-scale magnetorheological (MR) seat suspension system utilizing experimental methods to assess performance under both single-axis and simultaneous three-axis input conditions. To achieve this, a semi-active MR seat damper was designed and manufactured to address excitations in all three axes. The damper effectiveness was tested experimentally for axial and lateral motions, focusing on dynamic stiffness and loss factor using an MTS machine.

The threat posed by light pollution to human health is increasing remarkably. As demand for high-efficiency and bright lighting increases, so does the blue light content from artificial sources. Although animal studies suggested blue light induced depression-like behaviors, human evidence remained limited, and the mechanisms by which blue light affects depression remained elusive.

Corticospinal motor neurons (CSMN), located in the motor cortex of the brain, are one of the key components of the motor neuron circuitry. They are in part responsible for the initiation and modulation of voluntary movement, and their degeneration is the hallmark for numerous diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), hereditary spastic paraplegia, and primary lateral sclerosis. Cortical hyperexcitation followed by in-excitability suggests the early involvement of cortical dysfunction in ALS pathology.
