Isolated native pulmonary valve endocarditis is rare. We present a rare case of isolated native pulmonary valve endocarditis resulting in severe right ventricular outflow tract obstruction in an immunocompetent patient with surgically repaired ventricular septal defect caused by Burkholderia cepacia.

As an important carrier of intercellular information transmission, exosomes regulate the physiological and pathological state of local or distant cells by carrying a variety of signal molecules such as microRNAs (miRNAs). Current research indicates that exosomes and miRNAs can serve as biomarkers and therapeutic targets for a variety of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). This narrative review summarizes the research progress of exosomes and their miRNAs in CVDs, particularly in pulmonary valve diseases (PVDs), and, for the first time, explores their potential associations with transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement (TPVR).

In recent decades, the advantages of minimizing surgical trauma have led to the development of minimally invasive surgical procedures. While the benefits often outweigh the risks, several challenges are encountered that are not present in conventional surgical approaches. Unilateral pulmonary edema (UPE) after mitral interventions performed through a right-sided approach is a rare but potentially life-threatening event.

Pectus excavatum (PE) can be associated with either congenital or acquired heart disease. This study highlights the importance of PE surgical repair in cases of severe chest depression on the heart in underlying cardiac diseases exacerbating cardiopulmonary impairment. From January 2023 to March 2024, four male patients underwent PE repair, having heart disease including pericarditis, mitral valve prolapse, ventricular fibrillation arrest and type 1 second-degree atrioventricular block.

Considering the persistence of the AVB, it was decided to implant a permanent pacemaker. After considering all available options and the issues related to the patient, it was decided to implant a leadless pacemaker (LLP).
