Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the hemostatic efficacy of the fibrin sealant patch (TachoSil) after loop electrosurgical excision (LEEP) and its influence on other complications and quality of life (QoL).
Materials And Methods: This single-blind, prospective, randomized study involved patients undergoing LEEP with or without TachoSil (1:1) between August 2014 and August 2015 in Asan Medical Center, Korea. Primary outcome measures were bleeding duration and the frequency of additional treatment owing to vaginal bleeding within 2 weeks after LEEP.

USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program Nepal, Management Sciences for Health, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Background: Nepal piloted a multipronged supervision, performance assessment, and recognition strategy (SPARS), to improve medicines management (MM) in public health facilities. This paper describes the SPARS pilot intervention and reports on MM performance at baseline.
Methods: To build MM capacity at public sector health facilities, health workers were trained as MM supervisors to visit and supervise government health facilities, assess MM performance, and use the findings to provide support in MM practices.

Department of Medical Ultrasound, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.
Background: Ultrasound imaging is pivotal for point of care non-invasive diagnosis of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries. Notably, MSK ultrasound demands a higher level of operator expertise compared to general ultrasound procedures, necessitating thorough checks on image quality and precise categorization of each image. This need for skilled assessment highlights the importance of developing supportive tools for quality control and categorization in clinical settings.

There is a persistent need for effective sensors to detect rare earth element ions (REEIs) due to their effects on human health and the environment. Thus, a simple and efficient fluorescence-based detection method for REEIs that offers convenience, flexibility, versatility, and efficiency is essential for ensuring environmental safety, food quality, and biomedical applications. In this study, 6-aza-2-thiothymine-gold nanoclusters (ATT-AuNCs) and bovine serum albumin/3-mercaptopropionic acid-AuNCs (BSA/MPA-AuNCs) were utilized to detect 14 REEIs (Sc, Gd, Lu, Y, Ce, Pr, Yb, Dy, Tm, Sm, Ho, Tb, La, and Eu), resulting in the creation of a simple, sensitive, and multi-target fluorescence sensor array detection platform.
