is a rapidly emerging fungal pathogen associated with high resistance rates, particularly in healthcare settings. It most commonly affects patients with severe underlying medical conditions and requiring complex medical care. Patients with invasive medical devices tend to be at increased risk for getting and developing infection. This article presents a case of ventriculitis successfully treated with intravenous liposomal amphotericin B and oral flucytosine. A 41-year-old man with multiple comorbidities, including recent placement of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt, presented with suspected sepsis. was isolated from cerebrospinal fluid cultures. Antifungal therapy along with removal of the shunt led to resolution of infection without complications. This case highlights the challenges posed by infections and underscores the importance of appropriate treatment strategies.

Purpose: The primary objectives of this trial were aimed at exploring the pharmacokinetic profiles and the human bioequivalence of an intravenous liposomal injection of doxorubicin hydrochloride in comparison with a reference formulation in Chinese patients diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.
Methods: To achieve these goals, the trial employed a randomized, open-label, two-formulation crossover dosing strategy among Chinese patients with metastatic breast cancer. Pharmacokinetic (PK) evaluation was conducted through the collection of blood samples, and the liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) method was leveraged to quantify plasma concentrations of both liposome-encapsulated doxorubicin and non-encapsulated doxorubicin in patients.

Auricular mucormycosis is an exceptionally rare and aggressive fungal infection primarily affecting immunocompromised individuals, particularly those with poorly controlled diabetes. This report presents the case of a 54-year-old diabetic woman with isolated auricular mucormycosis and facial nerve palsy. The patient developed right auricular edema, necrosis, and severe pain, progressing over 10 days, with no history of trauma.

Gangliosides, glycosphingolipids with one or more N-acetyl-neuraminic acid groups, play essential roles in various cellular and biological processes, among them are cell signaling, neuronal development, cell-cell recognition and the modulation of immune response. Based on their multiple biological roles, the pharmacological utilization of gangliosides for the therapy of several clinical conditions is currently widely being explored but hampered by its limited water solubility. To increase the bioavailability of poorly water-soluble therapeutic agents, pharmaceutical nanocarriers such as liposomes have been developed over the last fifty years.

Objective: The objective of this study was to explore the possibility of treating heart failure in rats by delivering mRNA of 24-dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR24) into the body through lipid nanoparticles (LNPs).
Methods: We established a heart failure rat model using doxorubicin. The experiment was divided into blank, model, mRNA stock solution cardiac injection, mRNA stock solution intravenous injection, LNP-mRNA stock solution cardiac injection, and LNP-mRNA stock solution intravenous injection groups.

In vivo genome editing holds great therapeutic potential for treating monogenic diseases by enabling precise gene correction or addition. However, improving the efficiency of delivery systems remains a key challenge. In this study, we investigated the use of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for in vivo knock-in of ectopic DNA.
