Due to the special structure and physicochemical properties of sulfoximines, research on sulfoximines has achieved great progress in recent decades, especially in chemical and medicinal fields. This review highlights recent advancements in the N-functionalization of NH-sulfoximines, focusing on classical cross-coupling reactions with electrophilic agents and oxidative coupling reactions with extensive organic compounds, including specific (hetero)arenes, alkenes (1,4-naphthoquinones), alkanes (cyclohexanes), nucleophiles (thiols, disulfides, sulfinates, diarylphosphine oxides), organyl boronic acids, and arylhydrazines. Transition metal-catalyzed, metal-free, electrochemical and radical oxidative coupling reactions are discussed. This review also reports and discusses the mechanistic pathways of some typical reactions.

An aryl radical assay is used to provide information about the formation of aryl radicals from aryl halides in coupling reactions to arenes in the presence of palladium sources and under LED irradiation (λ = 456 nm). The assay uses 2-halo--xylenes as substrates. Aryl radical formation is indicated both by a defined product composition and by signature deuterium isotope effects.

Ovarian endometrioma (OEM), a particularly severe form of endometriosis, is an oestrogen-dependent condition often associated with pain and infertility. The mechanisms by which OEM impairs fertility, particularly through its direct impact on oocyte-cumulus cell (CC) communication and related pathways, remain poorly understood. This study investigates the impact of OEM on oocyte-CC communication and explores melatonin's therapeutic potential.

Under most conditions, 2,4-dihalopyrimidines undergo substitution reactions at C4. Here we report that Pd(II) precatalysts supported by bulky -heterocyclic carbene ligands uniquely effect C2-selective cross-coupling of 2,4-dichloropyrimidine with thiols. The regioselectivity of this reaction stands in stark contrast to ∼1500 previously reported Pd-catalyzed cross-couplings that favor C4 in the absence of other substituents on the pyrimidine ring.

Skeletal muscle plays a significant role in both local and systemic energy metabolism. The current investigation aims to explore the role of the Bambi gene in skeletal muscle, focusing on its implications for muscle hypertrophy and systemic metabolism. We hypothesize that skeletal muscle-specific deletion of Bambi induces muscle hypertrophy, improves metabolic performance, and activates thermogenic adipocytes via the reprogramming of progenitor of iWAT, offering potential therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndromes.

Atomically precise nanoclusters (NCs) can serve as an excellent platform for a comprehensive understanding of structure-property relationships. Herein, three structurally similar Cu NCs (Cu-1, Cu-2 and Cu-3) have been prepared for the photocatalytic phenylacetylene self-coupling reaction. It was found that Cu-1 NC achieved the highest turnover number (TON) of 524.
