Background: The effects of glomerular hyperfiltration (GHF) on cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were explored.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study enrolled 1,952,053 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus from the Korean National Health Insurance Service database between 2015 and 2016. Based on age- and sex-specific estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) percentiles, patients were classified into five groups: <5 (low filtration), 5-40, 40-60, 60-95, and >95 (GHF).

There exist significant challenges for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) due to its poor prognosis and limited treatment options, particularly in the advanced stages. It is crucial to identify genetic biomarkers for improving outcome predictions and guiding personalized therapies. In this study, we utilize a multi-step approach that combines principled sure independence screening, penalized regression methods and information gain to identify the key genetic features of the ultra-high dimensional RNA-sequencing data from LUAD patients.

: Primary gynecological melanomas are rare malignancies with lower survival rates compared to cutaneous melanomas. Both preclinical and clinical data support the evidence that mucosal melanomas are photon-radioresistant but responsive to carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT). The aim of this study is to assess, in a real-world cohort, the effectiveness and tolerability of radical CIRT in patients with inoperable gynecological mucosal melanoma.
