Total ankle arthroplasty is the gold standard surgical treatment for severe ankle arthritis and fracture. However, revision surgeries due to the failure of the ankle implant are a serious concern. Extreme bone density loss due to bone remodelling is one of the main reasons for implant loosening, with aseptic loosening of the talar component being one of the primary reasons for total ankle arthroplasty revisions.

Background: Electromyographic activity (EMG) of masticatory muscles during wakefulness is understudied. It is unclear if single channel ambulatory EMG devices are sensitive enough to detect masticatory muscle activity (MMA) during wakefulness.
Objectives: To compare the MMA of various oral tasks recorded with a single channel EMG device ((Grindcare4-datalogger Prototype device) (GC4-β)) and a conventional EMG (cEMG) device.

Aim: The standard treatment for anal cancer is chemoradiotherapy. Most patients survive anal cancer but remain living with long-term side effects related to the treatment received. The aim of this study was to assess the occurrence of long-term impairment of urinary and sexual function at 3 and 6 years after diagnosis and to investigate the additive effect from chemotherapy in combined chemoradiotherapy on urinary incontinence, compared to radiotherapy alone.

Correlation coefficients are widely used to identify and quantify climate signals in proxy archives. Significant relationships between tree-ring chronologies and meteorological measurements are typically applied by dendroclimatologists to distinguish between more or less relevant climate variation for ring formation. While insignificant growth-climate correlations are usually found with cold season months, we argue that weak relationships with high summer temperatures not necessarily disprove their importance for xylogenesis.
