Time involved, patient reaction, and radiation exposure were compared for 25 patients undergoing a per-oral small bowel series and 18 having enteroclysis. For the per-oral study, mean room time was 17 minutes and fluoroscopy time was 4 minutes; for enteroclysis, mean room time was 44 minutes and fluoroscopy time was 22 minutes. Side effects were categorized as mild to moderate in two thirds of patients having enteroclysis, whereas they were minimal in 20% of those having the per-oral examination. Radiation exposure was five times greater for enteroclysis. These factors should be considered along with the age of the patient, indications for the examination, and the accuracy of the technique when planning a study of the small bowel.

We report the usefulness of a tapered cutting needle, which has a polyhedral tip similar to that of a square needle and transitions to a round tip in the middle, for super-microsurgery. We have performed more than 500 lymphaticovenular anastomoses (LVAs) using tapered cutting needles. Therefore, we investigated the caliber of the anastomosed lymphatic vessels and veins, characteristics of the lymphatic vessels, the time required to perform the anastomosis, damage to the lymphatic vessels and veins during anastomosis, and patency of 30 recently performed consecutive anastomoses.

Home monitoring through e-health technologies, such as spirometry and oximetry connected to smartphone applications, holds promise for early detection of ILD progression or acute exacerbations, enabling timely therapeutic interventions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of kinesiophobia following Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) on the rehabilitation outcomes of patients during hospitalization, includes examining the trends in resting pain levels at various time points post-surgery, the trends in active flexion of the knee at various time points post-surgery, and the effects of kinesiophobia on the timing of first postoperative ambulation, the duration of postoperative hospital stay, and the results of the two-minute walk test on the day of discharge. Postoperative kinesiophobia in patients was identified using the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK), with 33 patients scoring >37 points and 35 patients scoring ≤37 points. Resting Pain levels were assessed using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) at various time points, including upon return to the ward (T1), the first (T2), second (T3), third (T4), fifth(T5) postoperative days, and the day of discharge (T6).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effective warm-up protocol using an added respiratory dead space (ARDS) 1200 ml volume mask to determine hypercapnic conditions, on the swimming velocity of the 50 m time trial front crawl. Eight male members of the university swimming team, aged 19-25, performed three different warm-up protocols: 1) standardized warm-up in water (WUCON); 2) hypercapnic warm-up in water (WUARDS); 3) hypercapnic a 20-minute transition phase on land, between warm-up in water and swimming test (RE-WUARDS). The three warm-up protocols were implemented in random order every 7th day.
