Ln-MOFs, composed of lanthanide ions and functional organic ligands, are porous materials with tunable structures and unique luminescent properties. However, the interplay between ligand AIE properties and the framework's "antenna effect" on MOF morphology is understudied. Here, Tb-D-Cam-TPTB was synthesized via solvothermal method using TPTB (persulfurated arene) as the primary ligand, D-Cam as the auxiliary ligand, and Tb3+ as the metal ion. Photoexcitation of TPTB, a typical AIE molecule, promotes conformational changes, enhancing molecular aggregation and luminescence. Comprehensive photophysical investigations of TPTB in solution and crystal states, Tb3+-TPTB coordination, and Tb-D-Cam-TPTB MOF were conducted using various spectroscopic and imaging techniques. This study explores the interaction between ligand AIE and the "antenna effect" on Ln-MOF luminescence and crystal structure. Results show that UV irradiation of the precursor solution prior to crystal growth, when the ligand is a photoexcitation-induced AIE molecule, modulates crystal structure, luminescence intensity, and color, promising applications in anti-counterfeiting, sensing, and other fields.

Organic Ligand Exchange: The Chiral Structure-Property Regulation of Cuprous Halides.

The strategy of organic ligand exchange is proposed to tune the optical properties of organic-inorganic hybrid cuprous halides. In this work, the chiral ligand (S)-(-)-2,2'-bis(di--tolylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl ((S)-Tol-BINAP) and achiral triphenylphosphine (PPh) are introduced into cuprous halides CuX-PPh-[(S)-Tol-BINAP] (X = Cl, Br, I) through organic ligand exchange. As a result, the mixed organic ligands can enhance second harmonic generation (SHG) and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) optical properties.

The integration of theranostics, which combines diagnostics with therapeutics, has markedly improved the early detection of diseases, precise medication management, and assessment of treatment outcomes. In the realm of oncology, organoplatinum-based supramolecular coordination complexes (SCCs) that can coload therapeutic agents and imaging molecules have emerged as promising candidates for multimodal theranostics of tumors. To address the challenges of tumor-targeted delivery and multimodal theranostics for SCCs, this study employs a cell membrane cloaking strategy to fabricate biomimetic metallacage nanoparticles (MCNPs) with multimodal imaging capabilities and homologous targeting capabilities.

The ability of photosensitizers (PSs) to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) is crucial for photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, many traditional PSs face the drawbacks that aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) and highly expressed glutathione (GSH) in the tumor microenvironment seriously limit their ROS generation ability. Herein, we report two cationic dinuclear iridium complexes, and , which possess aggregation-induced emission (AIE).
