Canine distemper virus (CDV) can infect a wide range of mammalian carnivores and can cause severe illness and death. Domestic dogs may be an important source of this virus for endangered wild carnivores. The objective of this study was to establish the presence of CDV in rural areas of Cambodia bordering three established protected habitats, and to determine the seroprevalence of CDV in free-roaming dogs inhabiting these areas.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) represent a significant global health concern, primarily caused by uropathogenic bacteria and their rising trend of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This study investigates the prevalence and pattern of AMR among uropathogenic bacteria during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting its impact on antimicrobial usage and resistance trends. This retrospective cross-sectional study, conducted at King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022, analyzed 10,031 patients with positive urine cultures for resistance patterns pre-COVID-19 and during COVID-19.

Background: In consideration of rising opioid-stimulant deaths in the United States, this study explored rates of naloxone administration and survival in suspected opioid overdoses with, versus without, stimulants co-involved.
Methods: The study analyzed 26,635 suspected opioid-involved overdoses recorded by law enforcement/first-responders in the Pennsylvania Overdose Information Network in 63 Pennsylvania counties, January 2018-July 2024. All measures, including suspected drug involvement, were based on first-responder assessment/report.
