Considering the substantial inaccuracies inherent in the traditional manual identification of ceramic categories and the issues associated with analyzing ceramics based on chemical or spectral features, which may lead to the destruction of ceramics, this paper introduces a novel provenance classification of archaeological ceramics which relies on microscopic features and an ensemble deep learning model, overcoming the time consuming and require costly equipment limitations of current standard methods, and without compromising the structural integrity and artistic value of ceramics. The proposed model includes the following: the construction of a dataset for ancient ceramic microscopic images, image preprocessing methods based on Gamma correction and CLAHE equalization algorithms, extraction of image features based on three deep learning architectures-VGG-16, Inception-v3 and GoogLeNet, and optimal fusion. This latter is based on stochastic gradient descent (SGD) algorithm, which allows optimal fitting of the fusion model parameters by freezing and unfreezing model layers.

We present a series of articles proving the existence of a previously unknown mechanism of interaction between hematopoietic stem cells and extracellular double-stranded DNA (and, in particular, double-stranded DNA of the peripheral bloodstream), which explains the possibility of emergence and fixation of genetic information contained in double-stranded DNA of extracellular origin in hematopoietic stem cells. The concept of the possibility of stochastic or targeted changes in the genome of hematopoietic stem cells is formulated based on the discovery of new, previously unknown biological properties of poorly differentiated hematopoietic precursors. The main provisions of the concept are as follows.

Field-theoretic simulations are numerical methods for polymer field theory, which include fluctuation corrections beyond the mean-field level, successfully capturing various mesoscopic phenomena. Most field-theoretic simulations of polymeric fluids use the auxiliary field (AF) theory framework, which employs Hubbard-Stratonovich transformations for the particle-to-field conversion. Nonetheless, the Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation imposes significant limitations on the functional form of the non-bonded potentials.

Quantitative microbiological risk assessment (QMRA) of pathogens in food safety is well established, but steps are being taken to expand this methodology to food spoilage. Parallels can be drawn between the steps involved in a QMRA for pathogens and its application to specific spoilage organisms (SSO). During hazard characterisation for pathogens, the appropriate dose-response model is used to link the hazard level to the health outcome by estimating the probability of illness, resulting from the ingestion of a certain dose of the hazard.
