Breast cancer is the most frequent non-dermatologic malignancy in women. Breast cancer is characterized by the expression of the human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2), and the presence or lack of estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) expression. HER2 overexpression is reported in about 20 to 25% of breast cancer patients, which is usually linked to cancer progression, metastases, and poor survival. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) are the gold standards for determining HER2 status, even though IHC has largely focused on quantifying HER2 status versus "other" HER2 status (including variants with low or no expression). Recent findings regarding the beneficial therapeutic effects of anti-HER2 monoclonal antibodies (mAb) in HER2 metastatic patients lead to changes in the classic definition of advanced breast cancer, and methods for precise assessment of HER2 status are being developed. As a result, various radiolabeled HER-targeted mAbs and antibody fragments have been designed to avoid repeated biopsies with potential bias due to tumor heterogeneity, including single-chain variable fragment (scFv), F(ab')2, affibody, and nanobody. These small targeting radiotracers displayed favorable biodistributions, clearance, and stability, allowing for higher image quality, shorter circulation half-life, and lower immunogenicity. This study aimed to comprehensively review the application of radiolabeled anti-HER2 antibody fragments in breast cancer in vivo imaging and provide a better understanding of targeted HER2 quantification.

Hydrogen sulfide (HS)-mediated protein S-sulfhydration has been shown to play critical roles in several diseases. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are the predominant population of immune cells present within solid tumor tissues, and they function to restrict antitumor immunity. However, no previous study has investigated the role of protein S-sulfhydration in TAM reprogramming in breast cancer (BC).

Background: Bilateral risk-reducing mastectomies (RRMs) have been proven to decrease the risk of breast cancer in patients at high risk owing to family history or having pathogenic genetic mutations. However, few resources with consolidated data have detailed the patient experience following surgery. This systematic review features patient-reported outcomes for patients with no breast cancer history in the year after their bilateral RRM.

Purpose: Historical redlining, a 1930s-era form of residential segregation and proxy of structural racism, has been associated with breast cancer risk, stage, and survival, but research is lacking on how known present-day breast cancer risk factors are related to historical redlining. We aimed to describe the clustering of present-day neighborhood-level breast cancer risk factors with historical redlining and evaluate geographic patterning across the US.
Methods: This ecologic study included US neighborhoods (census tracts) with Home Owners' Loan Corporation (HOLC) grades, defined as having a score in the Historic Redlining Score dataset; 2019 Population Level Analysis and Community EStimates (PLACES) data; and 2014-2016 Environmental Justice Index (EJI) data.

Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) significantly influence tumor progression and therapeutic resistance in colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the distributions and functions of CAF subpopulations vary across the four consensus molecular subtypes (CMSs) of CRC. This study performed single-cell RNA and bulk RNA sequencing and revealed that myofibroblast-like CAFs (myCAFs), tumor-like CAFs (tCAFs), inflammatory CAFs (iCAFs), CXCL14CAFs, and MTCAFs are notably enriched in CMS4 compared with other CMSs of CRC.

Background: The aims of this cohort study were to identify (1) the incidence and risk factors for axillary web syndrome (AWS) with shoulder movement limitation within 4 weeks after axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) for Asian women with breast cancer (BC), and (2) whether early intervention with physical therapy (PT) could improve AWS, and how many PT sessions would be needed.
Methods: A cohort study of patients with BC receiving ALND was performed at Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan, between January 2019 and December 2020. Those patients who were diagnosed with AWS with shoulder movement limitation were referred to receive PT twice weekly at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
