The multifaceted nature of research integrity (RI) calls for the adoption of innovative methodologies to achieve a more thorough understanding. Mixed methods research (MMR) provides a valuable framework by combining diverse data sources, enabling a more nuanced exploration of complex research questions. This paper reviews seven RI studies employing MMR to identify methodological shortcomings. It introduces key concepts and typologies of MMR and proposes actionable strategies to enhance methodological rigor and innovation. The review identified three key issues in current MMR applications: 1. Insufficient articulation of methodological contributions. 2. Limited visualization of quantitative and qualitative data integration. 3. Minimal engagement with recent MMR advancements. To address these gaps, a targeted To-Do List was created, offering actionable strategies for improving methodological rigor. Additionally, underutilized MMR designs, such as convergent and exploratory sequential designs, were recommended to strengthen data synthesis and expand analytical perspectives. MMR provides valuable opportunities to enhance RI research. This paper offers practical guidance for adopting MMR, addressing methodological gaps, and fostering robust, integrative research practices.

The aim of our study was to characterize the hydrodynamics and mass transfer in a novel internal flat-plate airlift cylindrical reactor to increase the biodegradation of newspaper. We evaluated the degradation kinetics of newspaper in a batch culture with . Gas holdup, mixing time, the Reynolds number, and volumetric mass transfer coefficient () properties were characterized in biphasic and triphasic systems in order to optimize their operational conditions.

Introduction: Pain is one of the most frequently reported symptoms in hemodialyzed (HD) patients, with prevalence rates between 33% and 82%. Risk factors for chronic pain in HD patients are older age, long-lasting dialysis history, several concomitant diseases, malnutrition, and others. However, chronic pain assessment in HD patients is rarely performed by specialists in pain medicine, with relevant consequences in terms of diagnostic and treatment accuracy.

Purpose: Studies have shown mixed findings regarding the impact of stress on the success of fertility treatments. To the best of our knowledge, stress in the context of the workplace has not been investigated to date in relation to the success of fertility treatments. This research investigates the impact of work-related stress and emotional exhaustion experienced by both partners on in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment outcomes.

Faculty of Computer Science and Research Campus STIMULATE, Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg, Magdeburg, Germany.

Purpose: Structured abdominal examination is an essential part of the medical curriculum and surgical training, requiring a blend of theory and practice from trainees. Current training methods, however, often do not provide adequate engagement, fail to address individual learning needs or do not cover rare diseases.

Methods: In this work, an application for structured Abdominal Examination Training using Augmented Reality (AETAR) is presented.

Deep phenotyping can enhance the power of genetic analysis, including genome-wide association studies (GWAS), but the occurrence of missing phenotypes compromises the potential of such resources. Although many phenotypic imputation methods have been developed, the accurate imputation of millions of individuals remains challenging. In the present study, we have developed a multi-phenotype imputation method based on mixed fast random forest (PIXANT) by leveraging efficient machine learning (ML)-based algorithms.
