Purpose: To identify sleep dimensions (characteristics) that co-occur in premenopausal women. The second aim was to examine associations between multiple dimensions of sleep and a set of demographic, lifestyle, and health correlates. The overarching goal was to uncover patterns of poor-sleep correlates that might inform interventions to improve sleep health of women in this age group.

Methods: The BioCycle Study included 259 healthy women aged 18-44y recruited between 2005 and 2007 from Western New York. Participants reported sleep data through daily diaries and questionnaires that were used to create five sleep health dimensions (duration, variability, timing, latency, and continuity). We used multivariate analysis - canonical correlation methods - to identify links among dimensions of sleep health and patterns of demographic, psychological, and occupational correlates.

Results: Two distinct combinations of sleep dimensions were identified. The first - primarily determined by low variability in nightly sleep duration, low variability in bedtime (timing), greater nocturnal awakening, and less sleep onset latency - was distinguished from the second - primarily determined by sleep duration. The first combination of sleep dimensions was associated with older age and higher parity, fewer depressive symptoms, and higher stress level. The second combination of sleep dimensions was associated with perception of longer sleep duration as optimal, lower parity, not engaging in shift work, older age, lower stress level, higher prevalence of depressive symptoms, and White race.

Conclusion: Among premenopausal women, we demonstrated distinct patterns of sleep dimensions that co-occur and vary by demographic, health, and lifestyle correlates. These findings shed light on the correlates of sleep health vulnerabilities among young women.

Objectives: To investigate potential sleep inequities between the infants of Māori and non-Māori mothers in Aotearoa New Zealand, identify socio-ecological factors associated with infant sleep, and determine features of infant sleep that contribute to a mother-perceived infant sleep problem.

Design: Secondary analysis of longitudinal data from the Moe Kura: Mother and Child, Sleep and Well-being in Aotearoa New Zealand study when infants were approximately 12 weeks old.

Participants: 383 Māori and 702 non-Māori mother-infant dyads.

Consorci Sanitari Terressa, Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain.

Background: In the present study we aimed to assess the cognition of post-COVID condition (PCC) participants regarding their sleep quality, and to analyse different possible moderators of this effect, such as quality of life (European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions, EQ-5D), fatigue (Chadler Fatigue Questionnaire, CFQ), cognitive reserve (Cognitive Reserve Questionnaire, CRC), and subjective cognitive complaints (Memory Failures of Everyday Questionnaire, MFE-30).

Method: We included 373 individuals with PCC and 126 healthy controls (HCs) from the NAUTILUS Project (NCT05307549 and NCT05307575) that were assessed with a comprehensive neuropsychological battery and different questionnaires.

West China Institute of Preventive and Medical Integration for Major Diseases, West China School of Public Health and West China Fourth Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

This study aims to investigate the independent and combined associations of nocturnal sleep duration, sleep midpoint, and sleep onset latency with global cognitive function in older Chinese adults. Our cross-sectional study included 4601 community-dwelling cognitively unimpaired adults aged 60 years or older from the West China Health and Aging Cohort Study. Sleep characteristics were assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and global cognitive function was evaluated using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).
