Objective: To explore the differences in the effectiveness of various teaching methods combining online and offline modes in paediatric medical education.
Methods: Fourth-year medical paediatric students at our university in 2020 were randomly divided into three groups: a control group, experimental group 1, and experimental group 2, with 30 students in each group. The control group received traditional teaching, experimental group 1 received a combination of online and offline teaching using two methods simultaneously, and experimental group 2, in addition to the methods used in experimental group 1, engaged in real-case teaching in the ward. The teaching outcomes were evaluated through theoretical exams, clinical skills assessments, and questionnaires.
Results: Experimental groups 1 and 2 were superior to the control group concerning theoretical examination and overall scores (P < 0.05). Experimental group 2 was superior to experimental group 1 and the control group in clinical skills examination scores (P < 0.05). The satisfaction rate for the questionnaire was highest in experimental group 2 (P < 0.05).
Conclusion: The combined use of various teaching methods with online and offline modes is more effective than using traditional teaching methods only in paediatric education. It enhances the overall competence of paediatric students, especially in terms of improving clinical skills, and is well-received by both students and teachers.

The study was designed to investigate the pattern of intraventricular Hemo-Dynamic Forces (HDF) and myocardial performance during exercise in Elite Cyclists (EC). Transthoracic stress echocardiography was performed on nineteen EC and thirteen age-matched sedentary controls (SC) at three incremental exercise intensities based on Heart Rate Reserve (HRR). Left Ventricular (LV) HDF were computed from echocardiography long-axis data sets using a novel technique based on endocardial boundary tracking, both in apex-base and latero-septal directions.

Background: Beyond physical health, managing type 1 diabetes (T1D) also encompasses a psychological component, including diabetes distress, that is, the worries, fears, and frustrations associated with meeting self-care demands over the lifetime. While digital health solutions have been increasingly used to address emotional health in diabetes, these technologies may not uniformly meet the unique concerns and technological savvy across all age groups.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the mental health needs of adolescents with T1D, determine their preferred modalities for app-based mental health support, and identify desirable design features for peer-delivered mental health support modeled on an app designed for adults with T1D.

Objectives: Patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are repeatedly affected by oral diseases or problems, including dental caries and periodontal diseases (PDs). Periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis are chronic inflammatory destructive diseases that share many similarities. The objective of this study was to assess oral health status including examination of hard dental tissues and periodontium in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and compare the results with healthy controls.

Spermatogenesis is finely regulated by histone methylation, which is crucial for regulating gene expression and chromatin remodeling. Functional studies have demonstrated that the histone lysine methyltransferases (KMTs) SETD1B, CFP1, SETDB1, G9A, and SETD2 play pivotal roles in spermatogenesis through establishing the key histone methylation marks, H3K4me3, H3K9me2, H3K9me3, and H3K36me3, respectively. This study aimed to evaluate the spatiotemporal expression of these KMTs and methylation marks as well as senescence-associated β-galactosidase (β-GAL), transcriptional activity, and apoptosis rates in mouse testes during biological aging.

Bioplastics, particularly polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), are emerging as promising alternatives to traditional materials due to their biodegradability. This study focuses on the production of PHAs as bioplastics using effluent from hydrogen production in a two-stage Biohythane Pilot Plant, which provides a low-cost substrate. The aim is to optimize production conditions, with Cupriavidus necator TISTR 1335 being used as the PHA producer.
