Background: One of the most popular methods of local anesthesia in dentistry, inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) involves the blockade of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) and lingual nerve (LN) in the pterygomandibular space. Despite the large number of works describing the contents of this space, the spatial displacements of the anatomical structures of this area at different positions of the mandible have not been sufficiently studied. The aim of our study was to study the spatial movements of the IAN and inferior alveolar artery (IAA) at various positions of the mandible using computer simulation and finite element analysis to find the safest way to conduct IANB.

Article Synopsis
  • - GPS tracking is vital for studying the movement of threatened species but capturing and handling animals can lead to stress and potentially harm their survival, particularly in sensitive species like the Pyrenean Capercaillie.
  • - Researchers adapted a sedation protocol using midazolam to safely capture and tag 23 wild Pyrenean Capercaillies between 2018 and 2021, allowing for easier handling and reduced stress during the procedure.
  • - The study found that sedation improved the birds' response to handling and did not significantly increase mortality rates (4.35%), indicating that using sedation can enhance the welfare of the endangered Pyrenean Capercaillie during GPS tagging efforts.

Objective: In this case report, we have investigated the infectious bronchitis (IB) virus (IBV) outbreak with the co-infection of in 28-33-day-old broiler chickens in Malaysia.

Materials And Methods: A farmer complained that Cobb 500 chickens, raised in the open house, were having bloody diarrhea, open mouth breathing, non-uniform growth, and ruffled feathers. The mortality was about 100 birds (from about 7000 birds) per day.

Heat Stress Impacts on Lactating Cows Grazing Australian Summer Pastures on an Automatic Robotic Dairy.

Animals (Basel)

May 2020

School of Agriculture and Food, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Science, The University of Melbourne, Parkville, Melbourne, VIC 3010, Australia.

The objective of this study was to measure the impacts of summer heat events on physiological parameters (body temperature, respiratory rate and panting scores), grazing behaviour and production parameters of lactating Holstein Friesian cows managed on an Automated Robotic Dairy during Australian summer. The severity of heat stress was measured using Temperature-Humidity Index (THI) and impacts of different THIs-low (≤72), moderate (73-82) and high (≥83)-on physiological responses and production performance were measured. There was a highly significant ( ≤ 0.
