Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is one of the main treatment methods for hematological malignancies. With the continuous improvement and popularization of transplantation technology, it has brought hope for prolonging the lives and improving the survival rate of patients with hematological malignancies. However, postoperative invasive fungal infection (IFI) is the most common infectious complication and the main cause of death, with difficult early diagnosis and extremely high mortality. This paper summarizes the latest research progress on the pathogenic types, diagnostic methods, high-risk factors and treatment regimen of and associated with postoperative IFI, which is expected to provide references for improving the early diagnosis rate and treatment effectiveness of postoperative IFI.

Invasive candidiasis has attracted global attention with a high incidence and mortality. Current antifungal drugs are limited by unfavorable therapeutic efficacy, significant hepatorenal toxicity, and the development of drug resistance. Herein, we designed the first generation of lanosterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51)/heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) dual inhibitors on the basis of antifungal synergism.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer mortality globally due to HCC late diagnosis and limited treatment options. MiRNAs (miRNAs) emerged as potential biomarkers for various diseases, including HCC. However, the value of miRNA-101 as a serum biomarker for HCV-induced HCC has not been fully investigated.

Background: Invasive fungal disease (IFD) poses significant challenges for critically ill patients with hematological malignancies (HMs). However, there is limited research on the clinical characteristics, risk factors, and outcomes of IFD within this population.
Method: A retrospective study was conducted at a tertiary center in China.

Background: In Alzheimer's disease (AD), changes in intestinal microbiota and systemic inflammation are concomitant with neuroinflammation and cognitive decline. This has led to the theory of microbial communities or infections as being causative in the development of neuroinflammation and immunosenescence seen in AD. Our research has demonstrated a decreased taxonomic diversity and an increased abundance of pathobionts in the gut of AD patients (Haran, mBio 2019), which is sufficient to promote amyloid and tau deposition in a mouse model (Chen, Gut 2023).
