Direct ink writing of multiple mineral materials (M) coupled with simulation analysis is an optimization solution in accordance with low-carbon and sustainable manufacturing. It improves the ability to imitate natural biological iterative optimization, and accurately obtained data for geological model tests to effectively help prevent natural disasters. This article investigates the effects of equivalent materials on the direct ink writing and permeability behaviors through geological simulation models. The mineral compositions provide adjustable cohesion and compression coefficient properties and considerably improve the stability and dispersion of slurry by adjusting parameters such as the viscosity, filling ratio, and deposition height. The upper limit of the permeability depends on the designed macropores and the printing accuracy because macro features provide pathways for rapid water infiltration into the printed specimen. This research establishes guidelines for the fabrication of components with tailored and designed-pore-dependent permeability properties that are primarily for slope geotechnical engineering applications.

Wearable sweat sensors offering real-time monitoring of biomarker levels suffer from stability and accuracy issues, primarily due to low biomarker concentrations, fluctuating sweat pH, and material detachment from sensor deformation. Here, we developed a wearable sensing system integrated with two advanced electrodes and a flexible microchannel for long-term reliable monitoring of sweat pH and uric acid (UA). By printing the ink doped with nanomaterials (CoO@CuCoO and polyaniline), we achieved highly stable electrodes for the direct analysis of perspiration, without additional surface modification.

Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) exhibit reversible shape morphing behavior when cycled above their nematic-to-isotropic transition temperature. During extrusion-based 3D printing, LCE inks are subjected to coupled shear and extensional flows that can be harnessed to spatially control the alignment of their nematic director along prescribed print paths. Here, we combine experiment and modeling to elucidate the effects of ink composition, nozzle geometry, and printing parameters on director alignment.

Hydrogels are popular materials for desalination and can significantly reduce the vaporization enthalpy of water; however, there are few reports on hydrogels with a controllable multilevel structural design for water evaporation. Herein, a calcium alginate and traditional Chinese ink-based evaporator (CIE) are proposed and fabricated using directed freezing technology to construct radial channels, followed by freeze-drying and physical cross-linking. Because of the squeezing of ice crystals and the shaping effect of the PDMS template, the prepared evaporator exhibits a sea-urchin-shaped highly geometrical centrosymmetric structure with numerous multilevel pore channels, which promotes the rapid transport of water under different solar incidence angles as the sun rotates as well as overcomes the structural shrinkage of the hydrogel caused by insufficient water supply.

In addition, carriers appear to be protected from cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease. This correlation supports the hypothesis that lipids may mediate the protective effect of on cognitive function, thereby providing potential targets for therapeutic intervention.

This work investigates the sustainable reuse of expanded polystyrene (EPS) waste through a multi-cycle physical recycling process involving dissolution in acetone and subsequent manufacturing via Direct Ink Write (DIW) 3D printing and casting. Morphology and mechanical properties were evaluated as a function of the manufacturing technique and number of dissolution cycles. Morphological analysis revealed that casted specimens better replicated the target geometry, while voids in 3D-printed specimens aligned with the printing direction due to rapid solvent evaporation.
