To improve the calculation accuracy of the Monte Carlo (MC) method and reduce the calculation time. Firstly, CNN and LSTM deep learning networks are introduced for designing nonlinear dynamic systems simulating dam stress. Then, spatial feature mining and sequence information extraction of nonlinear data of dam stress are carried out respectively, and a combined prediction model of dam stress depth (DS-FEM-CNN-LSTM) is proposed. Secondly, to solve the problem of a long time and heavy workload for the MC method to calculate a single sample point, the DOE test method is used to design the sample points. The weight factor and the distance to the failure surface are used as screening criteria. The reliability calculation method of the gravity dam (DS-FEM-CNN-LSTM-MC) is established. Finally, numerical results show that the proposed DS-FEM-CNN-LSTM-MC method performs better than the existing methods in terms of computational time consumption and accuracy.

Hydropower Station diversion tunnel layered excavation deformation mechanism under high crustal stress.

Sci Rep

Power China Guiyang Engineering Corporation Limited, Guiyang, China, 550081, Guizhou.

Aiming at the crucial engineering challenge of the ambiguous excavation deformation mechanism of hard and brittle surrounding rock under high geos-tress conditions, with the right bank diversion tunnel at the dam site of the hydropower station as the research object, the deformation and failure characteristics of the surrounding rock and their formation mechanisms during the layered excavation of the diversion tunnel were investigated. The research findings show: (1) The main factors influencing the deformation of the diversion tunnel's surrounding rock are the high ground stress environment, the degree of fracture development in the rock mass, and the effectiveness of the support system. (2) Following the excavation of the first layer, extensive shallow damage predominates, with damaged blocks primarily exhibiting sheet-like and plate-like forms.

In cow-calf contact (CCC) systems breaking the maternal bond may induce stress for the cow, thereby affecting feed intake, milk yield, milk flow rate, and milk electrical conductivity. This study aimed to determine the consequences of weaning and separation strategies in CCC systems for feed intake and milking characteristics of the cow. In 2 experiments, Swedish Holstein and Swedish Red cows either had (experiment 1) whole-day CCC (CCC1, n = 12) for 8.

Eight years after the tailings dam collapse in Mariana, MG, Brazil, several aspects of this massive disaster are yet to be elucidated. Our goal was to investigate the impact of the mud flow on 16 fish species collected across 15 points from the Doce River, addressing 12 metal concentrations, tissue oxidative status (antioxidant enzymes and stress biomarkers), and histopathological analyses. The species Trachelyopterus striatulus, Prochilodus vimboides, Loricariichthys castaneus, Lophiosilurus alexandri, Hypostomus affinis, Hoplias intermedius were shown to be the most affected regarding the gills tissue integrity; Hypostomus affinis, Oligosarcus acutirostris, Lophiosilurus alexandri, Pygocentrus nattereri, Hoplosternum littorale, and Loricariichthys castaneus showed the highest levels of liver health.
