Lubricants are pivotal in mitigating friction and wear between surfaces, ensuring seamless movement of solid objects. However, the predominant use of petroleum-based lubricants in the automotive and industrial ssectors raises substantial concerns for future energy security. The exploration of vegetable oils as an alternative lubricant in the automotive industry was motivated by the depletion of fossil fuels and escalating environmental concerns. The post-pandemic surge in environmental awareness has intensified the focus on biolubricants. Over the past two decades, the biolubricants field has burgeoned with numerous research, signaling a heightened interest in eco-friendly and sustainable lubrication solutions. This underscores biolubricants as a dynamic and evolving research area with lasting prominence, especially amid ongoing environmental innovation. The review centrally revolves around naturally sourced lubricants, primarily focusing on vegetable oils, which stand out as appealing substitutes for conventional petroleum-based lubricants due to their biodegradability, high lubricity, and elevated flash points. The article delves into modifications to enhance vegetable oil properties, explores the role of additives, and provides insights into current and future prospects. The paper also investigates diverse applications in engine oil, grease, hydraulic oil, and more.

The optimization of auto parts supply chain logistics plays a decisive role in the development of the automotive industry. To reduce logistics costs and improve transportation efficiency, this paper addresses the joint optimization problem of multi-vehicle pickup and delivery transportation paths under time window constraints, coupled with the three-dimensional loading of goods. The model considers mixed time windows, three-dimensional loading constraints, cyclic pickup and delivery paths, varying vehicle loads and volumes, flow balance, and time window constraints.

The adhesion of marine organisms to marine facilities negatively impacts human productivity. This phenomenon, known as marine fouling, constitutes a serious issue in the marine equipment industry. It increases resistance for ships and their structures, which, in turn, raises fuel consumption and reduces ship speed.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a high-production-volume plastic chemical, with ∼98% of its usage in China allocated to producing polycarbonate and epoxy resin, and its fugitive release threatens ecosystems. However, knowledge of its anthropogenic cycles, environmental emissions, and ecological risks remains incomplete, hindering effective plastic lifecycle management. Herein, material flow analysis, multimedia environmental modeling, and ecological risk assessment were integrated to comprehensively map BPA dynamics in China.

The use of a composite welded joint consisting of titanium and austenitic stainless steel metals is evidently a favourable selection for industrial applications employing the resistance spot welding (RSW) operation. Nevertheless, achieving a high-quality welded joint proved challenging owing to the properties of the diverse range of materials' used. To improve the quality of dissimilar welded joints, the welding parameters should be selected precisely.
