This narrative review comprehensively synthesizes laser technology's clinical applications, advantages, and limitations in modern dentistry. The review of 67 articles published between 2018 and 2023 highlights the latest advancements, including photobiomodulation (PBM) for enhanced tissue healing and inflammation control, alongside innovative uses in implantology, endodontics, and teeth whitening. The findings underscore the transformative potential of lasers in improving dental treatment precision and patient outcomes while addressing the barriers to their widespread adoption, such as costs and training needs. This review emphasizes the integration of laser technology into routine clinical practice and identifies pathways for future innovations in dentistry.

Spatial stable isotope tracing metabolic imaging is a cutting-edge technique designed to investigate tissue-specific metabolic functions and heterogeneity. Traditional matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) techniques often struggle with low coverage of low-molecular-weight (LMW) metabolites, which are often crucial for spatial metabolic studies. To address this, we developed a high-coverage spatial isotope tracing metabolic method that incorporates optimized matrix selection, sample preparation protocols, and enhanced post-ionization (MALDI2) techniques.

Botulinum neurotoxin type-A (BoNT/A), which blocks quantal acetylcholine (ACh) release at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ), has demonstrated its efficacy in the symptomatic treatment of blepharospasm. In 3.89% of patients treated for blepharospasm at Tenon Hospital, BoNT/A was no longer effective in relieving the patient's symptoms, and a partial upper myectomy of the muscle was performed.

Energy generation and storage are critical challenges for developing economies due to rising populations and limited access to clean energy resources. Fossil fuels, commonly used for energy production, are costly and contribute to environmental pollution through greenhouse gas emissions. Quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs) offer a promising alternative due to their stability, low cost, and high-power conversion efficiency (PCE) compared to other third-generation solar cells.

Carbapenem-resistant (CRE) is an emerging global concern. Specifically, carbapenemase-producing (CP) strains in CRE have recently been found in clinical, environmental, and food samples worldwide, causing many hospitalizations and deaths. Their rapid identification and characterization are paramount in control, management options, and treatment choices.

In the growing field of personalized medicine, non-invasive wearable devices and sensors are valuable diagnostic tools for the real-time monitoring of physiological and biokinetic signals. Among all the possible multiple (bio)-entities, pH is important in defining health-related biological information, since its variations or alterations can be considered the cause or the effect of disease and disfunction within a biological system. In this work, an innovative (bio)-electrochemical flexible pH sensor was proposed by realizing three electrodes (working, reference, and counter) directly on a polyimide (Kapton) sheet through the implementation of CO laser writing, which locally converts the polymeric sheet into a laser-induced graphene material (LIG electrodes), preserving inherent mechanical flexibility of Kapton.
