This study probes the vibronic interactions in the photoelectron spectra of CAlGe, exploring its six excited electronic states through an approach that combines the electronic structure calculations and the quantum nuclear dynamics. Central to this investigation is utilizing a model diabatic Hamiltonian, which allows for the exact evaluation of Hamiltonian parameters and fitting potential energy cuts (PECs). Notably, the analysis of these PECs uncovers pronounced nonadiabatic effects within the photoelectron spectra, emphasized by the presence of multiple conical intersections. The investigation of nuclear dynamics, with and without the same spatial symmetry coupling, is achieved by employing time-dependent (TD) and time-independent (TI) quantum mechanical methods. These nuclear dynamical studies effectively simulated all the photoelectron spectral bands. Eventually, the theoretical findings conformed well with available experimental observations, highlighting the nonadiabatic effects among the closely situated spectral bands.

With the applications of in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical - measurement, and ambient pressure hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (AP-HAXPES), the characteristics of the topotactic phase transition of LaCoO (LCO) thin films are examined. XRD measurements show clear evidence of structural phase transition (SPT) of the LCO thin films from the perovskite (PV) LaCoO to the brownmillerite (BM) LaCoO phases through the intermediate LaCoO phase at a temperature of 350 °C under high-vacuum conditions, ∼10 mbar. The reverse SPT from BM to PV phases is also found under ambient pressure (>100 mbar) of air near 100 °C.

Sterilization is required for any biomedical device intended to be used in contact with the human body. Several studies have reported alterations in the bulk and surface properties of such devices after repeated sterilization cycles. These surface modifications may influence other clinical parameters.

This article studies the synthesis, as well as the structural, vibrational, and optical properties of Eu-doped ZnO quantum dots (QDs) and investigates the energy transfer mechanism from the ZnO host to Eu ions using Reisfeld's approximation. Eu-doped ZnO QDs at varying concentrations (0-7%) were successfully prepared using a wet chemical method. The successful doping of Eu ions into the ZnO host lattice, as well as the composition and valence states of the elements present in the sample, were confirmed through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses.

A novel nanocomplex was prepared using soybean protein isolate (SPI) and oxidized fucoidan (OFU) to explore the structural and interaction variations and evaluate its potential for quercetin delivery. The optimized SPI to OFU mass ratio of 10:1 (SFU3) resulted in a nanocomplex particle size of 198.1 nm and increased ζ-potential.
