Aim: this study aimed to examine the effect of different storage times (0, 7, 24, 57, and 119 days) on the volatile components of Shenling Baizhu powder across different preparation processes (Pharmacopoeia, ultra-micro pulverization-pulverization, and microparticle design methods). The findings offer insights to guide quality control measures for Shenling Baizhu powder.
Methods: gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) was employed to ascertain the volatile components in Shenling Baizhu powder at various storage times across different preparation processes.

Pigment production has a substantial negative impact on the environment, since mining for natural pigments causes ecosystem degradation, while synthetic pigments, derived from petrochemicals, generate toxic by-products that accumulate and persist in aquatic systems due to their resistance to biodegradation. Despite these challenges, pigments remain essential across numerous industries, including the cosmetic, textile, food, automotive, paints and coatings, plastics, and packaging industries. In response to growing consumer demand for sustainable options, there is increasing interest in eco-friendly alternatives, particularly bio-based pigments derived from algae, fungi, and actinomycetes.

Background: The authorization of new therapeutic indications for drugs already reimbursed by the Italian National Health Service (NHS) represents a matter of importance. This study aims to estimate the additional discount attributed to the extension of indications (EoIs) to explore the potential correlation between spending and negotiated discounts and to find specific factors (determinants) that impact on discount.
Methods: The study focused on drugs approved in Italy between 2003 and 2017 with at least four therapeutic indications, including the first approved and EoIs, with follow-up extended until 2021 to acquire all the information on the negotiation process that has been completed.
