A new series of chiral δ-thiolactone derivatives have been prepared. These compounds exemplify the acetalic N-C-S reversibility of fused thiazolidines toward the thermodynamic product. The stereochemistry of the synthesized compounds was elucidated using X-ray crystallography, NOESY spectroscopy, and DFT calculations. The aminolysis reaction of the δ-thiolactone was studied with various alkyl amines, which can open the thioester to yield amido thiols in a single step. This reaction has the potential to be applied in the synthesis of bioactive compounds, polymer chemistry, and dynamic combinatorial chemistry, among others fields.

Achieving superior circularly polarized luminescence brightness () is an important subject and continuous challenge for chiroptical materials. Herein, by applying a binary molecular design for the synthesis of chiral organo-Tb molecules, a novel pair of mononuclear chiral -pyrazolate-Tb enantiomers, [Tb(PMIP)(,-Ph-PyBox)] () and [Tb(PMIP)(,-Ph-PyBox)] (), have been synthesized and characterized. The three 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(isobutyryl)-5-pyrazolone () ligands play the role of efficient luminescence sensitizers and strong light-harvesting antennas, while the enantiopure 2,6-bis(4-phenyl-2-oxazolin-2-yl) pyridine ligand (/) is employed as the strong point-chiral inducer.

We introduce mechanochemical deracemization (MCDR) as a novel strategy for obtaining enantiopure compounds. This study demonstrates the successful transposition of six archetypical deracemization reactions from a solvent-based to a solvent-minimized ball milling environment. The scope includes a ketone, isoindolinones, imines, an ester, and an inorganic compound, all of which deracemized successfully.

Asymmetric catalysis is essential for addressing the increasing demand for enantiopure compounds. Recent advances in reticular chemistry have demonstrated that metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) possess highly regular porous architectures, exceptional tunability, and the ability to incorporate chiral functionalities through their open channels or cavities. These characteristics make them highly effective and enantioselective catalysts for a wide range of asymmetric transformations.

This report describes the asymmetric synthesis of a focused library of enantiopure structured triacylglycerols (TAGs) comprised of a single saturated fatty acid (C6, C8, C10, C12, C14 or C16), a pure bioactive n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (EPA or DHA) and a potent drug (ibuprofen or naproxen) intended as a novel type of prodrug. One of the terminal -1 or -3 positions of the glycerol backbone is occupied with a saturated fatty, the remaining one with a PUFA, and the drug entity is present in the -2 position. This was accomplished by a six-step chemoenzymatic approach starting from enantiopure ()- and ()-solketals.
