Evaluating the effect of lag schedule of reinforcement and progressive-time delay in increasing varied augmented requesting.

Augment Altern Commun

Department of Special Education, College of Education, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Request training can produce highly repetitive requests unless the setting is organized to encourage request diversity, particularly for individuals who depend on speech-generating devices (SGDs). Previous studies have shown that request training utilizing a lag schedule and progressive-time delay led to an increase in variability among children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The impact of lag schedules on augmented requesting remains to be seen.

Autoreactive, aberrantly activated lymphocytes that target myelin antigens in the central nervous system (CNS) are primary drivers of the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis (MS). Proliferating cells including activated lymphocytes require deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates (dNTPs) for DNA replication. dNTPs can be synthesised via the de novo pathway from precursors such as glucose and amino acids or the deoxyribonucleoside salvage pathway from extracellular deoxyribonucleosides.

Subterranean estuaries (STEs) are critical ecosystems at the interface of meteoric groundwater and subsurface seawater that are threatened by sea level rise. To characterize the influence of tides and waves on the STE microbial community, we collected porewater samples from a high-energy beach STE at Stinson Beach, California, USA, over the two-week neap-spring tidal transition during both a wet and dry season. The microbial community, analyzed by 16S rRNA gene (V4) amplicon sequencing, clustered according to consistent physicochemical features found within STEs.
