High-density maize cultivation can enhance yield, but water scarcity on the Loess Plateau may limit this potential. Mulching is a sustainable practice that conserves soil moisture, yet limited studies exist on the combined effects of planting densities and mulching types on maize performance in this region. Over two years, an experiment investigated the effects of mulching (no mulching (NM), plastic film mulching (PM), and straw mulching (SM)) at various densities (60,000 to 90,000 plants ha).

Currently, plastic is used being without any limitations. The livestock sector is no stranger to its use. For example, artificial insemination involves the use of different plastic materials, including semen straws and insemination catheters, which increase the levels of waste in our environment.

Although microplastic pollution is a global concern, information on the distribution of microplastics in petroleum and petrochemical urban soils is limited. In this study, we investigated the occurrence, ecological risk, and human exposure risk of microplastics in different land-use types of soil in Daqing Administrative region, a prominent petroleum and petrochemical industrial base in China. Stereoscopic microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (μ-FTIR) were used to study the chemical composition and distribution characteristics of microplastics.

Using deep eutectic solvents (DES) to pretreat wheat straw (WS) and extract lignin-containing nanocellulose (LCNC). Acrylic acid/choline chloride (AA/ChCl) polymerizable deep eutectic solvents (PDES) were used as the primary polymerization network, combined with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Lignocellulose nanocrystals (LCNC) oxidized by sodium periodate were prepared as dialdehyde-based nanocellulose (DCNC) to serve as the crosslinking agent.
